Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It has details about how to check a remote control; by one among the post. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. If the remote control is found OK; check and replace the infra-red sensor inside the TV. Contact any service technician.
Search the site by type in this key phrase "how to test a remote control "in the "search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get the related post quickly.

I've bought a new RT 531B as old one appeared to have packed up. New one worked fabulously for about half an hour now won't work at all. Any ideas please.

First thing to check is the batteries, then there is another trick to try: If this is an infrared remote control, you should be able to see the infrared light with any digital camera! Point it at a cell phone camera and press any button, on the camera you should see a violet light.

Can I download a user manual for Humax RT-531B?

I don't think so. There really isn't anything to know other than installing the two AAA batteries. The PVR manual probably has the info you're looking for.

I have a Humax PVR 9300T with a RT-531B remote. Suddenly the remote has stopped working although the batteries in it are fine. What can I do to fix this?

from "sceptical Glenn". I had the same problem & saw solutions so thought why not!!!.unplugged box, removed batteries, waited 10 mins.Held down "ON" button for a good minuet.Pressed all buttons from top left to right all the way down"like reading a book" even the ones under the slidey bit.Replaced batteries pressed buttons again in the same sequence, plugged the box back in pointed remote at box held "ON" button down for another minuet, then crossed my fingers.Pressed a button and it worked,"Wheay" success it worked it worked.Never again will anybody call me sceptical Glenn again. Thanks for the solution I am now a happy remote control using person once again, never having to leave my settee again only for a beer,or the loo or food, but that can also be rectified as I sit near the window...the pizza man can pass it through to me.

I need a remote code for a emerson tv

From :
Code search by device:

Turn on device you want to control (TV, VCR, DVD)

Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button until the red indicator light remains red, then release

Press the desired mode button (TV, VCR, DVD) and release

Press the POWER button slowly, but repeatedly
until device turns off. While doing this, the red indicator blinks then stays lit

Once the device turns off, press and release the Enter button to install code. The remote should be synced to the device.

Another view:
Someone on another board pointed out that with some newer models you do not need to press the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly. Rather, you press it only ONCE, and the device will cycle through all the code possibilities. When the TV turns off, it means that the proper code has been found. Immediately press the Enter button to install that proper code. This method (and no other) worked for me.

What is Input Select and how do I find this on my TV?

Typically, 'Input' is an option found on your television's remote control, not on the TV.

If you have your remote, look for a button labeled 'Input' - pressing this allows you to change the input that the television is using at the current time (ie. you can have multiple devices [GameCube, a DVD player, and an XBOX (for example)] connected to your TV through the various inputs on the back (where all the cables go) and select (or jump) between the various devices. This means that you don't have to unplug and plug in each different device everytime you want to use it)
