SOURCE: CX6600 horizontally cuts text

The problem may be that you have a clogged nozzle in the print head. Run a nozzle check pattern and check the results. If the pattern printed is broken for any colour, run a head clean. You should also check the print head alignment, as it may have gone askew. I f you do not have the facility to run an alignment check, get hold of the Epson Adjustment software (try http://www.TheServiceManualShop.com) and that will do the job for you.

SOURCE: prints complete lines with occasional lines half height of letter

Your printer cogs may be damaged or your paper rollers could be slipping resulting in this "odd" output.

Paper rollers can be cleaned with an appropriate cleaning kit but if the cogs are damaged it's not worth repairing.

SOURCE: Last print line of any doc printed with HP J6480 is cut off

I had been experiencing this problem intermittently for some time, so I finally got a hold of HP support and with the second support technician, I did get a solution that worked for the document I was printing at the time. When Printing, click Printing Preferences, click the Advanced tab, under the Printer Features section, set Minimize margins to On. Per the technician, 'The printable area of the product increases (bottom margin 12 mm to 3 mm), so that printing closer to the edge of the paper.'

Also, he recommended using the printer's Print Preview option under same the Printer Preferences window. When I did, I did in fact see the document's bottom paper being 'cutoff' with the old settings (i.e., Minimize margins Off), with it On, it look okay.

Hope this helps. Let me know if this works for you.

SOURCE: printer prints every second line

Hello sir; I believe it's time to clean print head and ink cell, power on the machine open the cover ( as you replace cartridge) , when carriage move to the center , then UNPLUG the power cord. then you may move carriage freely by hand all the way to left, noe you can clean up ink cell easily.

Why does every other line of print have the top half of the print cut off?

The print head prints two lines of text/image at one time. If there is a partial print of alternating lines, you probably have a partially clogged print head. Print a test page to see what you get, and perform head cleaning process if needed.

Every other line prints only bottom half of text.

I have a psc 2355 printer which only prints half of text then the next lines are ok then it repeats only printing half text. I removed my ink cartridge and wiped the ink ports with a tissue heavily moisten with water. Repeated this several times and then gently dried with a tissue. The problem was fixed!!

Run the cleaning cycle. If that doesn't work, try to use an alcohol soaked swab on the print head. Some of the jets are clogged.
