Try to do a hard reset. Turn off the unit and unplug the power cable for several hours like 3-4 hours then check if that fixes it.

use a hair blow dryer to warm up the chute and dry up any moisture then lube the chute with a cooking spray, pam is a good one.

I think the ice was too hard for a hand blender. I think the impact has caused the blade to separate from the shaft or caused the shaft to separate internally. If your blender is still under warranty you might be able to get it fixed. Note: none of the "Smoothy" recipes in the manual call for ice. One uses ice-cream. One uses "partially thawed frozen strawberries" and one uses sherbet.

I would give it a few more days most icemakers will not cycle if the temp around the icemaker are above 15 degrees F.Leave the door closed.Open door for even one minute can take a while for freezer to cool off to temps around 10 or colder. Also if you do not have much in there it may be a problem as well it is harder for freezer to cool open space. If I can help with anything else please let me know.

You can just put mint leaves into the base of ice cube trays and add water and freeze. Because mint is a very soft herb, some people find that it doesn't freeze so well. Another option is to blend the mint in a processor and freeze it in cubes ready blended. This is good for recipes that call for finely chopped or minced herbs rather than whole leaves.
