Sounds like i have a motor problem.

Sounds like i have a motor problem. When i try to play a dvd it makes a noise like its trying to work but the display ends up saying no play or no disk. And the tv screen will say 'can't play this type of disk at this time'. Some disks will start to work but will **** out in the middle or start messing up while loading but most of the time it doesn't make it that far. I just want to know if this is fixable or if i can just get a new reciever so i dont have to waste the speakers and sub by buying a completely new one.
