Hi,
Try doing an ink head clean. If you give me the make/model I'll tell you how to do that.

Erick - if the printer is a laser monochrome printer.
Laser printers have too requirements. Toner and drums.
Most modern laser printers have a limited print number on the drum. Have you reached this limit of 400,000 pages .If you have a new drum will be required.
The toner may be close to empty and causing this.

SOURCE: hp2100 laserjet printer producing very faint copy

Could be a few things. I would check the transfer roller first it is the roller that sits under the toner cart. This roll should be spring loaded. Press down on each end, it should move down and come back up. If someone removed this roll the springs may be missing or out of place.
Let me know if this helps

Faint printing

Have you by any chance set the print properties to DRAFT? that will print a light copy to save ink and looks like what you describe. goto printer properties and select the correct mode or default.

Sc390

SC390 = Toner Density Sensor abormality

Possible causes:

  • Poor concentration of developer
  • Toner density sensor faulty

Are the prints/copies coming out ok? If the copies are very faint or heavily overtoned then changing the developer may cure the error code. If the copies look OK then you probably need to get the toner density sensor replaced by an engineer.

Hope this helps.

Faint copies

Several things. If you use it as a printer and the prints are clear, then you need to clean the scanner.
If both prints and copies are light, then the laser window needs cleaned, and possibly a drum and developer.

Sharp AR168D won't copy

There are small mirrors on the copy lamp, wipe with a clean dry soft cloth. Remove the drum unit and wipe upper part where the drum unit was and make sure the area is clean.

Very faint copies

You need developer added to your machine. When it is added properly to the toner, your copy quality will improve.
