My printer keep showing insert all toner correctly i have canon 1028iF

The problem is with the paper tray not the toner, believe it or not. Take all of the paper out of the tray and then reinsert the paper into the tray. It should then work fine.

The error you are describing is usually cause by a bad cartridge but if you have tried a new Canon cartridge because refills will cause this a lot then we would need to look internally. If you look inside the unit (cartridge removed) on the right hand side towards the bottom you will see 3 flat metal plates. These are called spring plates when you push on them they should move in and out check and make sure they are not bent or depressed in you can try and use your fingers to fix them if they are. If not this unit would still be under the 3 year manufacture warranty call Canon they should give you service options. 800-828-4040

I think it is firmware problem.I only found firmware update tool for MF 4150.I am not sure this is also for 4690 but i think i do this before for this machine and it works.So you can try it.It can also be a problem with cartridge contacts so yuu can try to check it.

There is a black sensor flag on the bottle itself. Check that it is not missing or broken. If it is, you need a new bottle.

If you removed and reinstalled toner correctly several times and this error code is flashing, you need to try another new toner cartridge, even though the other one may seem still good to you. If this doesn't remedy problem the Troubleshooting section of the Canonusa.com website says to call 1-800-OK-CANON.
