I'm pretty sure the USB port is only for transferring media files. I've searched my PSP head to toe and never heard of anything like that. I've found out you can use the USB connector on the white PSP to charge the battery. (I haven't tried that out yet.)

Are you talking about the 6 channel input with all RCA jacks? Please explain a little better, it is very hard to know how you have it connected without a very good description since I can not put my eyes on it. You may need to check the settings, it may have the rears muted. More information from you will help me to be able to help you.

There are usb audio devices out there that would help you here.
I'm not 100% sure that is exactly what you are looking for but it's a good place to start.
What you are looking for is a video and audio capture device that is USB compliant.
