Hello, E20 error code means you have some kind of restriction on your pump system or a pump issue, take the lower panel on the front off the machine, there you should see something that resembles a gas cap like on your car. It will be located some where near your pump...Unscrew this cap making sure you have some towels handy to mop up the water that runs out. Once you have pulled out the cap attached you should find a filter cage. You will likely find a bunch of debris, coins, lint and other stuff blocking the pump. Replace this cap or filter and plug machine in and try again, You should be good to go. If this does not fix the problem you are going to need to replace the pump. p.s not sure why you are looking to replace the door latch since you mention the machine is not spinning. The door latch has nothing to do with the spin other then locking. Good Luck!! if you have any toher questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Mike

I have a Kenmore Elite washer, model 44092. The machine won't spin and the error code is E20. What is wrong with it?

The machine, based on the error code, is made by Frigidaire for Kenmore. Error code E20 pertains to a slow or no drain problem which can be due to a clogged/kinked drain hose, blocked drain filter/coin trap, or a broken drain pump. The link below provides the detailed troubleshooting procedure of this error code.

E20 code keeps showing and you have to restart the machine so it will spin. Looking at a diagram of the motor and tub we are not real sure how easy it will be to remove the pump filter to clean. Can you...

Hi

You are right, E20 error code means that the drains hose/filter assembly is kinked and the water is unable to drain. If the hoses are clean/clear then please post back with the manufacturers name and model no of your washer for further assistance.

Spin cycle goes very slow or doesn't work.

Hello, After looking at the User Manual for our Washer, E20 is an error code for the drain. It said that either the house drain line is clogged or the washer drain line is clogged. After my husband took the drain line off the washer, cleaned it out, we noticed that the lines had a lot of detergent build up and figured that this is probably the cause of the error code. We put the washer back together and it is working properly. We have always used the "he" detergent for the front loader and always used the proper amount; however, from now on, we will use less than the recommended amount.
I hope this helps some of you who are having this problem.

Thanks

E20 message want spin

E20 is not an exact error code. It's indicating a possible pump out problem. Here is a few possible causes of an E20 error code:

1. Restriction in the drain pump

2. Failed pump

3. Water not pumping out fast enough (crimped drain hose)

4. Too many suds ( too much detergent or wrong kind)

5. Pressure switch (not communicating with control board)

6. Loose wire at pressure switch

7. Loose wire at pump or control board

8. Failed control board

E20 is a general error code to get to the real problem try this..
Reading Error Codes 1. Wake the washer by pressing any button. 2. Wait 5 seconds. 3. Press and hold the START/PAUSE and CANCEL buttons simultaneously. As long as the buttons are held, the failure code will appear in the display as an “E” followed by two numbers, a number and a letter or two letters. The control will beep and the Door Lock, Wash, Rinse, and Final Spin indicator lights will flash. let me know what code come up... hope it helps

Error code E20. This is not listed on the error code chart. What do I do to fix the problem.

E20 means the drain hose is plugged or kinked or the household drains are plugged. YOur washer will not drain and spin until this is fixed.

turn off the washer/unplug it/remove the drain hose and check for a clog. If it is there, clean it out. If not - check your sinks and toilets for slow running drains. The garbage disposal is a good place to start as well. plug the sink, fill it with hot water, then pull the plug and start the disposal. That will help clean the disposal and also show you if you have a drainage problem there. Plunge the toilets, etc.

Good luck to you!

I suggest you snake out the drain into which the machine waste hose goes, the standpipe that is. The drain could be blocked somewhere causing pressure problems which is conveyed to the machine. Be sure to replace the machine exit hose at about 3 feet from ground level, and dont shove it too much into the standpipe. Do not block up the point where the machine hose goes into the standpipe, it shouldn't be air tight.
