Does this Pro-Com heater leave a smell of gas?

The heater works fine but every time I come into the room I smell gas. I suck all the air out of the room with a fan. But within time the room smells like gas again. Does anyone else have this problem?

The problem you have is a gas leak
turn off the gas at the mains or gas bottle immediately and call a gas fitter to locate and fix the leak
by using a fan you run a very real risk of a spark in the fan igniting the gas and leaving you homeless and badly burnt
the fact that you can smell gas means that it is already dangerous

A house near us has a gas leak, and when it ignited, it destroyed the house, killed the two occupants, took the side off the houses either side, took out all the windows of the town houses behind it, damaged houses in a 500 metre radius and distributed debris and insulation for a mile. No one could return to there homes for 4 days.

TURN OFF THE GAS AND GET IT FIXED.

Funky smell when heat is on. Heat works though. Heater Core?

Have you changed the cabin filter? Also look where the air comes in (outside under windshield). do you have leaves, bugs, etc there? You may also want to look closely at the carpet around the lower heater discharge for any sign of dampness, mold, etc. You might want to put the fan on high and shoot a little Fabreeze into the intakes.

did you try cleaning the lens of the photocell, they git dirty from smoke ver time which regulates the flame or replace the nozzle, sounds like it could be getting plugged up? usually any heating store would have a nozzle for a couple bucks if you get the number off it. the nozzle is right where it comes out and they are common to plug up at times with wear

You should have an Amp draw on the system and it's motors. Your nose will be your guide in figuring out what component is getting hot. Smell circuit board and electric motors.

Its never a good idea to leave a clothes dryer unattended. They are often a source of house fires. Is it a gas dryer? Maybe a gas leak, do not use until checked by a qualified person. If electric tumble dryer, then maybe the smell was caused by some lint collected around the heater element, and it eventually scorches and stinks like that. Either way,get it checked by a profession qualified person, don't risk a fire in your house! Hope this helps, good luck.

Heater smell when AC comes on...

The fan that blows the air blows through the heater coils before it blows through the A/C.As long as the heater doesn't come on, there is not much that can be done. ZCooking the attic room will be a problem because it is the heat rises thing, and on top(literally) of it all, the roof is radiating heat.

Carbon monoxide poisoning?

The problem is that it is burning up all the oxygen in the room. That is what makes the CO level high. He needs to either leave a door, or something open, and possible even a little fan to keep the Oxygen that is IN the room mixed. I figure he is working low, and there is not much air moving around him.
Get fresh air INto the room and the CO will not be a bother.

95 nissan quest - strong smell of exhaust in the cabin area

The exhaust leak is almost always broken studs on the exhaust manifolds. It makes a tick noise when cold and usually goes away when the engine warms up. After a year or so, the noise doesn't go away.

Your heater-a/c air intake is at the base of the windshield through the screen on the passenger side. WHen the exhaust leaks from the manifold, the exhaust gas gets sucked into the air intake.
You can put the heater in recirc mode and it will draw air in from inside the car instead of though the outside air intake. You can't leave it in recirc for long in winter or your car will get ice or fogging on the windows from too much humidity. Take it off recirc after 10 minutes.

Smelly heater

clear the area under the wipers and under hood you will find leaves and debris stuck there. the air inlet is right below wiper blade area and leaves/debris can get sucked in,then it contacts heater core and begins to heat up.
