Thread tension is by a knob on the face of the machine
if you find by adjusting that , nothing is happening , check the way the thread has been put in as it can get behind the pressure plates and jam on the bolt or not be between the pressure plates and just running free
bobbin tension is by the small screw that holds the flat spring under which you pull the thread after fitting in the bobbin back in the carrier
( seldom need to adjust bobbin thread tension)

The thread gets caught up in bobbin area

This mess is commonly referred to as a bird's nest or 'birdnesting' and it's usually caused by incorrect top tension and that's often caused by the top thread not in the correct path. (For me, I occasionally forget to thread through the take-up lever.) A damaged needle can also cause birdnesting.

My needle wont sew on my husky star 207?

change the needle--make sure it's the right needle for the fabric
being sewed
rethread the machine top using every thread guide
check to make sure the bobbin is not over wound, make sure the
bobbin is not warped, & that the bobbin is inserted correctly into the
machine
make sure the thread has not come off the thread take up lever
it's also possible that the machine is out of time

Husqvarna Huskystar 207 Sewing Machine not stitching. It won't pull the bobin thread up to sew.

Be sure not to use Singer Needles. They are longer than standard needles. Don't know if this helps, but I did this once on my Huskystar 207 and that is what happened. It also damaged the bobbin thread.

I was making a quilt. The thread snarls and throws loops on the bottom. I think it is the tension. How do I fix it?

The pressure foot has to be lowered to apply tension to the top thread. With pressure foot down, try grasping the thread just above the needle and gently pull downwards to check if there is tension on it. Also try re-threading the top thread from the start with pressure foot raised so thread enters the tension mechanism properly.
Hope this is the solution to get you back to your quilting ... <Ray>

Huskystar 224 top tension will not adjust. Last time I used this machine was a week ago, everything was perfect. Yesterday I started a project, and from the get-go there were big loops on the bottom of...

Have you tried to re-thread the machine? Check to see if the thread is in the take-up lever. There also might be a piece of thread or lint caught between the top tension disks.

My 5 year old Huskystar 216 sewing machine is

Sounds like the hook/needle timing. To check do the following:

With the power off!!
remove bobbin and bobbin case.
push needle all the way to the left.
Turn handwheel toward you watching the needle and bobbin housing hook. The point of the hook should line up right above the eye of the needle.

If not timing, clean bobbin area removing lint and thread.
Check bobbin tension, should get slight resistance when pulling thread.
Make sure using only Husqvarna Viking bobbins -- most are green but they have new colors now. All will have the Husqvarna logo on them (an H). Make sure the bobbin is unwinding in the right direction.

Remove fabric. Pull extra long bobbin thread (about 3 inches). Hold upper thread tail in left hand, turn handwheel toward you for 1 revolution. Is the bobbin thread caught by the top thread and pulled through the opening of the needle plate?

If you are still unable to get a good stitch, take to an authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer for service or have them send to Husqvarna Viking (SVP) Technical Service Dept for repair. A list of dealers close to you can be found at the Husqvarna Viking website - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/us

Good luck.
