Very unlikely that you will get a used part for a printer
if your local dump has a hock shop where they have dumped gear for sale for charities, you may get a old unit cheap that you can get a door from
if it is not real old you may get a part from the manufacturer's spares
it it is a real problem junk it and get a new printer

Testimonial: "Thanks for the advise, my daughter bought this printer at a pawn shop, she didn't realize it was missing the back access door, I figured out what the problem was and was trying to help her find one, haven't had any luck yet. Thanks for your help."

How to remove the ink cartilidge

How do I install a new printhead in my all-in-one printer? To replace the printhead in your all-in-one printer:
  1. Make sure the printer is on.
  2. Lift the printer access door and wait for the carriage to move to the access position.

NOTE: For ESP 3250 and ESP 5250 all-in-one printers:
    • On the printer control panel, press Home.
    • Select Maintenance, then press OK.
    • Select Install Ink Cartridges, then press OK.
If "Install Ink Cartridges" is not an available selection, upgrade the firmware.

  3. Remove any paper that may be loaded in the printer.
  4. Remove the black and color ink cartridges and set them aside.
  5. Remove the existing printhead:
    • For ESP Series Printers, unlatch the printhead by lifting the latch in the center of the carriage.

    • For 5000 Series Printers, unlatch the printhead by pressing the button in the upper-left corner of the carriage.

  6. Lift the printhead out of the carriage.
  7. Remove the new printhead from its bag.

CAUTION: Do not touch the copper contacts on the printhead, as this may damage it.

  8. Remove the plastic protective shields.
  9. Place the new printhead into the carriage.

  10. Push firmly against the target label of the printhead until you hear a loud snap.

  11. Insert the color ink cartridge into the printhead and press down until you hear it click into place.
  12. Insert the black ink cartridge into the printhead and press down until you hear it click into place.
  13. Close the printer access door.

The printer detects the new printhead. Follow the instructions on the LCD to calibrate your printer.
NOTE: ESP 3 all-in-one printers do not require calibration.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to use KODAK Ink Cartridges. Your KODAK All-in-One Printer is designed to work with KODAK Ink Cartridges. Kodak is not responsible for the compatibility or performance of either non-Kodak brand ink cartridges or refilled ink cartridges. You can purchase KODAK Ink Cartridges from the KODAK Store.

Contact Kodak. I think it's the batch of printers that were made around this time. I just contacted them (mine is the same age and I'm getting the same error), and they are sending me a new printer.

This kodak esp 3250 printer that i purchased at Walmart 12/18/10 is missing a spring that acts as a axel for the roles in the printer access door. where can i get the part thats missing

You can buy another 3250 printer and take the parts out of that one.
Or, you can return the broken printer because it is still under warranty.
You make the choice.

Yes sounds to me like one of your ink cartridge is empty. Replace and try again.
