No suction on my microwave

Over-the-range microwaves have lights and fans in them mostly for show. They protect the microwave from heat rising from the stove and provide a light to illuminate the stove top. The fan assembly is far too small to generate any real pull or draft and if it did, it would only blow it back in your face since these models do not exhaust to the outside; they only exhaust out the front of the microwave. A few models have a "filter screen" that is supposedly there to catch grease and contaminates but really it only serves to further weaken the draft as it provides a resistance to air flow.

Kenmore Elite Microwave Hood Combination fan blows air out of the top but is not sucking in the heat from anything on the stove...for example boiling water.

does th fan exhaust to the outside --filter clean --directional duct to out side --also small unit so will not suck air like a standard stand alone exhaust fan which are over 3 to 4x the size

Overhead maytag microwave fan works but no suction why

There is NO Suction on a Microwave, what you mean is Air Movement. If the Fan is turning, then there is Air Flow

The exhaust fan is not 'sucking' air from the bottom of the microwave, it is pulling in air from the upper right of the unit. Why?

Not to be redundant , but there are two dampers on a microwave that is vented out. One attached to the unit and one on the exterior of the building. Have you checked both? I am from the mechanical side of appliances, not the technical side but i believe the large fan vents steam and odors from the cooktop and the small fan cools and vents the micro conpertment. I'll check with others and get back with you.

Humming ge sapcesaver microwave

During operation, most of the built-in models have a panel that tilts out while the exhaust fan is on. When cooking is done, the exhaust fan shuts off and the panel retracts to its normal position. With the fan & microwave motor off, the hum is easier to hear. Look closely at the top panel the next time you hear the hum, and you'll probably see that it's retracting.

VENT NOT SUCKING

I would suggest checking the filters, checking the duct work (including the outdoor vent) and if that doesn't turn up the problem, the hood vent exhaust fan blade assembly may have come loose on the shaft.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here to help you verify the filter status and duct work.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

Hotpoint microwave exhaustive fan combined unit - fan not working

Do you feel air flow? That's the key.

Most microwaves have the exhaust fan assembly at the back edge, not up front immediately behind the grille / vent.

Post back if you can give us more detail or have other questions.
