Coax problems When I plug in my coax cable from my internet modem into the coax input thing on the wall, it shows I have internet connection, however, I can't open up anything on the internet. Is there a problem with the cable or the coax input thing on the wall?

How do i setup my tv through surround sound without a cable box?

Unfortunately Without the cable box you will have to screw the coax cable into the coax input on the tv or You can screw the coax cable into a vcr and then plug the Audio / Video RCA plugs from VCR out to TV RCA input (You will have to control the channels from the VCR and the volume from the TV remote)

What kind of cable do i need to connect my panasonic pc-p46c2 to a non hd cable box

The cable box will most likely have multiple options for display - the most common will be a standard coax cable(exactly the same as what comes out of your wall).

This is where I would start since you have no HD option on your cable box.

There will probably also be RCA's on the back of the cable box (red, white and yellow). You should be able to use these three, the yellow being for your video and the red/white for left/right stereo sound, to connect to your TV as well. You would need to select the appropriate input for the cable you use.

CABLE/SAT will be your coax input, and depending on the input you plug into for the RCAs it would most likely be Video1 or Video2.

You can plug in the coax as well as the RCA's without a problem, they won't conflict or anything.

Make sure the cable box is on and then use your remote to select the different inputs - there should be a specific button dedicated to switching through these.

The cable light is blinking on my Toshiba PCX1100 Cable Modem.

Yes this is usually a signal related problem from the provider. Often times this is premises related. Items that you can check.
1. Is the coax line tight in the back of the modem and at the wall.
2. Are there any splitters where the cable comes out of the wall before it attaches to your modem. If so remove them and attach the cable directly to the wall from the back of the modem and power cycle the modem.
3. Do you have a coax cable line that goes directly from the outlet the modem is attached to the point that the cable service enters the household. Each time that you split your coax line it takes away part of the signal and the more times you split the more likely you are to not get a connection to the internet.

If all of these items are in place and you still are having problems call your service provider and schedule a service call. Good luck.

I have a sb4100 cable modem and the "online" LED keeps blinking and it resets itself and will never go online

The modem that you have is getting old and may be going bad but here are a couple of thing to help you out.

Often times this is premises related signal strength issue.
Each time that you split your coax line it takes away part of the signal and the more times you split the more likely you are to not get a connection to the internet

If all of these items are in place and you still are having problems call your service provider and schedule a service call or try a new modem. Good luck.

When I press standby button the standby led doesn't turn on

First, make sure you have an internet connection. If so, shut down the modem. Pull out the power cable and Coax cable from the back of the modem. Then first put the power cable in, then the coax cable and then turn on the unit. Restart your computer to verify a connection. Then try to press the standby button. If this doesn't work call your internet provider and they can reset the modem remotely for you.
Good Luck.

Conecting netgar wpn824v2 to cable internet

what exactly do you plug directly in the wall? what kind of connector does it use? an 'f' connector on a coax cable or RJ45 (like a phone plug? if you are using a cable connection you have to have a modem for that to work. if you are using a Ethernet cable tied directly to a jack on the wall you'll have to be sure routers are allowed to connect. or register the router with your provider. be sure your wireless router is getting an address form the internet provider. with out more details i can't give you any more specifics.

-good luck-

Connecting to internet

Ok, cable (coax) comes in from wall and attaches to modem. Ethernet cable goes from modem to WAN Port of router. You may have to reboot both devices to ensure that your modem (internet service provider) assigns IP address to your router. If PC is close enough, attach new ethernet cable from one of the 4 ports on your router down to your PC's ethernet adapter. (where your modem used to plug into). Router will now assign an IP address to your PC and you should be able to access the www.

Good Luck and let me know if you have any more questions.
