Check if the compressor fan motor is engaging. If the fan is not spinning then the coil will freeze up again. Also check that there is enough air movement around the fan for circulation. This is also try for the inside fan. Good luck

Ice buildup, not cooling well

The ice build up on the cooling coils prevents you fridge from cooling properly. You need to unplug it and allow the ice to melt. When the coils are free of ice, the fridge should work better. Hope this helps you.

I have a Haier compact refrigerator (Model: HSP03WNWAWN-01, Serial Number: A205673063 - I defrost it and know it will not get cold. It comes on but will not get cold. I tried plugging in in for 24 hours...

Unplug the unit then turn the thermostat all the way on then all the way off, then slowly move from off to fully on position do you notice a spring popping sound at a certain point? Yes No? if yes turn it all the way off and wait ten minutes then plug back on, notice if the compressor comes on or not. If it does then turn the thermostat to half way on does it cool now? if yes you have the problem solved, if not you have an issue with the defrost circuit and you need tools to test it, if you have an ohm meter let me know and I will help you further. Thanks for using fix-ya

Haier HSB03 does not cool, just clicks, when it kicks on.....

Most of the times the problem is the compressor relay that get stuck , try replacing it (no more than $30) , but if the compressor still clicks and won't start probably is burned out.

GE GSH25JSTA SS side by side fridge not cooling/freezing

In most cases it is the Defrost timer circuit. One of three things the Defrost time (most likely) it allows the cooling for a 6 to 10 hour period and the defrosting for 10 to 30 minutes to remove ice buildup, ICE BUILDUP is the main problem as it restrict air flow, the cooling air circulation through the system. You see cool air only comes in the freezer side and passes through vents (pass ways) to the refrigerator side. Ice buildup in the freezer side inhibits cooling air to the refrigerator side. You think the freezer is working, but it is only cooler because there is ice in there that you can't see. The Terminator (a LIMIT switch) opens the defrost circuit if the defrost heater gets too hot (second likely) the next is the Heater which heats for those 10 to 30 minutes to melt the ice buildup (least likely) no matter the Unit you have they all have this circuit... Hope this helps, I'm Tango

Haier HTQ21JSS - Freezer works fine but fridge won't cool

RFGirl, you didn't give me much...that said, try a full defrost of the unit. You probably have a buildup of ice caused by condensation. This is probably because the door seal isn't doing its job well. If the coils that do the cooling are not exposed, you must either wait for a full defrost...about 2 days or figure out how to remove the covering panels and go about melting the ice. If you do, be sure that any heating equipment...like a hair dryer...be kept from getting wet. If this happens again, you probably have low gas levels in the box...you'll need a tech. Be sure you unplug the box.

How to check for low gas: Once the unit is defrosted, start it up with the coil covers off...after about 5 minutes, you should see an even coat of frost at both ends of the coils. If not, wait 5 minutes more. If still not, you're low. Alternate method: Go round back and find the compressor...the big black thing. It has a couple of pipes sticking out. The largest is the suction line. Start the unit. Wait about 5 minutes. It will frost up. It should either get dry or form liquid condensate on it if you've got enough gas. If it stays frosted, you're low.

Hope this helps.
