Advent DVD player won't turn off

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with your Advent DVD player not turning off properly. Here are a few things you can try to resolve the issue:
  1. Check the remote control: Make sure the remote control is not accidentally turning on the DVD player. Try removing the batteries from the remote and test the power button on the DVD player again.
  2. Check the power cord: Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into the DVD player and the wall outlet. Also, check that the outlet is working properly by plugging in another device to see if it powers on.
  3. Unplug the DVD player: Try unplugging the DVD player from the wall outlet for a few minutes, then plug it back in and test the power button again.
  4. Try a soft reset: If the above steps don't work, you can try performing a soft reset on the DVD player. To do this, unplug the DVD player from the wall outlet, wait a minute, and then plug it back in. Press and hold the power button on the DVD player for about 10 seconds, then release it. The DVD player should turn off.
  5. Check for a hardware issue: If none of the above solutions work, the issue could be caused by a hardware problem with the DVD player. In this case, you may need to contact the manufacturer or a repair professional to have the DVD player serviced.
It's possible that one of the above solutions will resolve the issue, but if not, it's best to consult the DVD player's manual or contact the manufacturer

Unlock the DVD player

follow the steps. God bless you
    • 1 Find the unlock code for the specific make and model of your DVD player. Unlock codes for more than 6,000 DVD player models can be found online at Videohelp.com (see the Resources section).
    • 2 Write down the unlock code for the make and model of your DVD player. The unlocking process can be as simple as a short number code, but on some DVD player models, the code is a complex series of numbers to enter and buttons to press.

    • 3 Turn on your DVD player. Remove any DVD that is in the unit.
    • 4 Enter the unlock code for your DVD player exactly how the code is listed. On some units, enter the code by using the remote for the DVD player. On others, you may need to enter the code on the unit itself or with a combination of the remote and the unit.
    • 5 Turn off the DVD player after you enter the code. When you turn the DVD player back on, the DVD player should be decoded and able to read DVD discs from any region.

My dvd player is stuck on one dvd and wont let me eject, change disc, or even stop the current dvd. display reads "locked" whenever i press any buttons. can only turn on and off the device.

Hi, For some reason the disk will not play. You push the eject button over and over again, but the disk slot will not open. Here's one solution...
* 1 Turn off the DVD player. Wait a few minutes, turn the DVD player back on, and
then press the "eject" button. If this does not work, turn it off and unplug
the DVD player...while you keep pushing EJECT button plug the DVD and turn it on (your hand still on the eject..) is should come out..
* 2 ..if it does not eject , unplug the DVD player again, Remove the screws off DVD on the sides and take off the DVD casing.
* 3 Look for the DVD holder inside the DVD player. This device holds the DVD in
place while the DVD player reads the disk.
* 4 Push the stuck DVD disk toward the front of the DVD player until the DVD
ejects. Remember the DVD player is not on and some force ( gentle ! ) must be applied.
* 5 While it is open, plug it on and place a DVD disc just to see if mechanism works properly..
* 6 Replace the casing and the screws. Plug the player in and turn it on. Put
another DVD in to test whether the player is finally working ..
Hope this helps!..
Take care and please

1. Remove any DVD discs from the tray/unit.

3. Wait 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord.

4. Turn on the DVD player with the supplied Samsung remote and wait for player to finish loading and display 'no disc' or the Samsung logo before you do anything else.

5. Press Enter on remote. (There will be no on-screen response to you doing this.)

(Again, there will be no on-screen response to this action.)

8. Now, turn the DVD player on.

9. When it is on and showing the "no disc" or Samsung logo, turn it off again.

Trouble Loading & Not Registering To TV

I can't say 100% but it sounds similar to the problem I had with the same model . The sleep mode in the on/off switch had gone bad and a new switch fixed the problem. It was about $42 to rtepair at my local electronics repair shop. Hope this helps.

Disc removal/ CH-DVD 300

On the bottom of the DVD player, there is an "emergency slot." I used a knife to push the botton over which manually opens the door to get your DVD out. However, I can't turn my DVD player on either. And can't figure out what the heck to do??!?!?!?!
