SOURCE: johnson 4 stroke 115 hp will not start. fuel

Sounds like and injector problem to me. If it was a 2 stroke I'd tell you to pull the carbs and clean them ,but EFI is a whole different story. Most certaintly a fuel problem, most likely injector related, you'll most likely need to go see a marine mechanic with the proper equipment to analyze, rather than start replacing parts you may not need.

SOURCE: How do I fix a 40 hp 4stroke johnson out board that runs rough at higher rpm

I suggest that you take it to a dealer service centre. It may be that the timing is out, corroded exhaust system or that the fuel system needs checking out

Hi I have got a gilera runner 125. 4stroke and the petrol won't go to the carb don't no wot it could be it has been sitting for a year or so tho. Any ideas peeps

The float or float needle in the carb bowl is probably stuck closed. Just remove the float bowl and clean the inside of the carb. Pay special attention to the float pin. Before putting the bowl back on, check to see that the gas flows when the float is lowered and shuts off when the float is raised. If the gas still will not flow when the float is lowered, remove the fuel line. If gas runs out of the line then the float needle is still stuck or trash is blocking the fuel flow prior to the needle. If no gas comes from the fuel line, the gas valve or gas tank fuel valve filter ( usually inside the gas tank ), is probably plugged up with rust or trash. Remove the valve and clean out the trash. What is the corrct fuel mix for 2005 25hp johnson

2 stroke is rated at 100 to 1... but I always run it a little more like 50 to 1. I would rather put plugs in it than burn up a motor for lack of oil......

40 Hp Johnson outboard motors stalls out after a few minutes running then takes forever to start again

May likely be one of two problems:

1. Fuel flow: Make sure fuel tank vent is open and not blocked while engine running. Check primer bulb is working and no air leaks along hose anywhere. Check function of fuel pump and ensure fuel is getting to the cylinders.

2. Overheating: Check engine isn't overheating and that water pump is operating properly while engine is running.

1974 Johnson 70 hp outboard, quits on acceleration.

It sounds like your motor is starving for fuel. At an idle, you have adequate flow to keep the engine running. When you call for more fuel...you sputter and quit. Could be a clogged filter or trash in the line or in a jet. Yes you will have some air in the bulb, but not a great deal. You could be sucking air at a hose connection (loosing some prime)...try this, start the engine and slowly accererate, have someone pump the bulb as you accelerate, see if the engine works properly while doing this test.

9.9 johnson 4 stroke wo'nt idle

Your cabs need rebuild, something is stuck in the carb or air line cracked

If you have rebuilt the carb check for carb gaskett leak that caused and let the air flow in
When to choke is on the air is block and prevent air flow but allowed small amount of air to keep the engine running
After your engine warmed up the heat in the compression burn much faster so you have to let air in by turn off the choke
Good luck

Johnson Outboard Motor 175HP

Not knowing what year it is...Light and alarm? Reason: overheat low oil etc. check water flow..water pump. The motor is most likily going into S.L.O.W mode. its a fail safe system. Last possibile reason ..CDI box and or stator.. pull plugs check compression...should be 120-150 lbs.
