Assuming your Shine doesn't pack up before too long (mine did).
Connect it to your computer via the USB cable, which should connect it as a mass storage device by default (if not, consult your manual to change the connectivity setting), then drag and drop your music files to the 'sounds' folder of your phone. Or the 'sounds/MP3' folder if you use MP3 files.
I think I read on a review that you can't set your own recordings as
ringtones on the LG Shine. There might be a way around it but I know
that you can't directly do it. Sorry. You will need to convert the tone to mp3 format you are correct. The
easiest way to do this is to download a software program that converts
audio files, (there should be a ton for free on google.com). Once you
have converted the file to the correct format you can transfer it back
to the Shine. The only other issue you might run into is the length.
LGs are restrictive in that the tone can only be a certain size, even
in the correct format, to be applied as a ringtone. But, there are also
software programs you can get to edit the size of the audio tone.
