All you have to do is connect the coaxial out from pc to any audio i/p at the back of vsx d512.but ensure you select the right channel to play the audio ( eg. tape i/p select tape at front control, aux i/p select the aux at front control )

Speakers must be selected on the front panel of the rcver, and tape ll monitor must be "off", or at least have an outboard processor attached to the tape ll loop. "A" or "B" doesn't matter, but one must be selected to hear program material. If all connections are correct and it still won't work, consider that the output stage has failed....accordianman

SOURCE: Pioneer VSX-D209 receiver shuts off when too loud

Dear Tabasco,

Your receiver is basically going into protect mode.

Just check your speaker cabling again. Make sure that all of them are seated properly, none is touching each other or the body of receiver. Take out all the wire and put them back again if necessary..
Some times even a little tiny frayed wire touching the receiver could trigger the protect mode. Be careful, since protect mode is sometimes not fast enough and it could blown a few trasistors in the power circuit.
Just check your speaker as well....whether they play all right thru another receiver or amplifier. its posiible they might be shorting inside. A little frayed wire could also trigger the protect circuit in your receiver.
I hope this should solve your problem.

If everything else seems all right and still your receiver shut down when you raise the volume then it possible that there are bad connections on the main board that are set in.

This would generally happen if the system is slighly old or have dry solder and when you raise up the volume. This should be a simple repair that will not require parts. If you can solder, you will be able to repair this yourself. If not, then a local service center will change the local labor rate.
Hope you can sort out your problem with the above trouble shooting. Let me know if I can guide you further.
Best of luck! Thanks for using FixYa!

SOURCE: pioneer vsx-d510 coaxial dvd connection problem

Hello,
I recommend you use an optical connection. Your VSX-D510 has only one optical input, but I believe it is assignable. Use a good optical cable and connect directly to your DVR. Follow the manual to assign the input and it should work.
Good luck

I have a Pioneer VSX-515-K A/V Reciever. When I plug it in the power relay clicks continuously. I don't have the schematic to troubleshoot the circuit. I just want to make sure it is the relay that's bad...

A bad relay won't pick and release itself. You need to find the cause.

Here's the Service manual.

I lost the remote to my Pioneer VSX D607S. I am trying to turn on the Sub-woofer, but the manual only shows how to do that using the remote. Is there a way to turn on the sub-woofer manually?

I dont think so as most of the sub functions are placed now on the remote control with no parallel modes on the customer panel.
The other way around is to trigger the circuit manually in the circuit but this needs care to allow the sub to switch on..

The reciever is connected to my subwoofer but Im not getting anything out of my subwoofer.

You need to instruct the receiver that it has a subwoofer and then tell it if it should share the bass with other speakers. Read the manuals for both the receiver and the subwoofer. AVR's take some setting up. Subwoofers are never assumed to be installed.

Cannot find how to balance speakers

I have a home Pioneer system and if it works the same way, you will need to program in the sound levels for each channel as if you were setting it up for the first time, most likely with a remote control. You might try the Pioneer website to locate an Ops manual. You can also try a website called audio.manualsonline.com . It's a free deal where people exchange manuals and information.
