You need what they call a "friction wheel" replaced.

Around the back of the engine, just below the cylinder cooling fins. The shut off should face you if standing in front of the recoil starter, for the fuel tank. The fuel line should wrap around I the side of the carb and be protected by the metal cover surrounding it.

SOURCE: I have a 24" Craftman snow thrower that gas got into and mixed with oil, and does not start.

Vito,
Don't feel bad. This is the most common problem for small engines. Because of the EPA demanding the use of corn alcohol in fuels the shelf life of fuel is 60 days or less.

This is not a problem for most cars because we cycle the fuel. unfortunately for small engines this is not always the case. I recommend the use of non ethanol fuel if possible.

The next best option is to stabilize fresh fuel with Stens 770-843 and keep it in a air tight can like the 765-102
( 765 102 2 1 2 Gallon Fuel Can )
(770 843 Gasoline Additive )

I put together a video describing the problem and how to fix it here:

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Best,

Joe

Snow blower runs and auger/ blade rotates but the wheels Anne not rotating. 2- stage Aries 5520. Not sure if the thrower piece is rotating. Any answers for getting wheel moving/ working

Most self propelled units have 2 belts. One for the auger, and one to power the wheels. Check the belts, and then check the drive assembly under the motor to see if it is engaging.

The auger is no longer turning. How do I fix it?

Check for broken shear bolts first. Then, move on and check the auger belt. Finally, if all those are ok, check the gear housing on the auger drive shaft (right in front, between the two auger blades).

Snow blower will not throw snow far

I take it that you have a 2-stage snow blower, that is is has the auger blades and then the 2-stage impeller. The impeller blade is damaged <<OR>> the motor is to small to through the snow far. If you have a 5-horse engine and throwing heavy snow, the snow may not go as far as the light fluffy stuff.
A single stage snow thrower is not designed to throw snow far, just move it over a bit.

Snow thrower auger won't turn

One of the grip levers should engage a clutch that controls the augers. The other grip lever should engage a clutch to drive the wheels. Figure out which is which, and track the linkage from that lever down to the gearbox between the augers and the impeller. See if there's an adjustment you can make there.

If not... the gearbox may be damaged, possibly by hitting a solid object with hardened bolts in the place of your shear pins. ALWAYS use soft shear pins!
