Question about RIM BlackBerry 7290

Does scrubbing delete sim data like saved messages

I was trying out using passwords and messing around with all of the options on a used blackberry i had just gotten from a friend. First time bb user so of course i go and do the dumbest thing i could do right off the bat and enabled information protection or whatever that is called and somehow what i was typing didn't match the password i had just created which slightly confused me. Probably a caps lock issue or something. So of course i just had to type the password wrong ten times and it did the wiping and now is doing the wonderful scrubbing. What i am wondering is if either of these (wiping and scrubbing) erase the sim card memory also or if it just erases all of the internal memory and leaves the external alone. Thanks

No, it only wipes the device memory not the external memory or your sim card card memory.

No you can't unlock blackberry curve 8300 without losing data if you didn't know the correct password, that's feature of RIM security to secure all customers data if their phone stolen or missing. You must type any password 10 times to unlock blackberry password and there is no option to save all your data.

I have a Blackberry Bold The lock icon is on the bottom right but then it goes topassword. I've tried what I think the password is but no luck. I don't remember it. What do I do to get it?

There is only one option left to unlock your blackberry phone, but it will erase all your previous data. Type any password until you fail 10 times, it will make your blackberry bold unlocked from old password. You can try other option to unlock blackberry but the result will be same, you can't save your data, that's feature of RIM security system. Sounds like double side sword huh?

Cant get main page to come up

Turn off Content Protection before manually erasing all data and applications from the BlackBerry smartphone, in order to avoid triggering the scrubbing process:

1). On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, go to Options > Security Options.
2). Under General Settings, go to Content Protection.
3). If Content Protection shows as "enabled," click the trackwheel of the BlackBerry smartphone and select Change Option to turn off, or "disable," Content Protection.
4). Click the trackwheel again to save and close.
Once scrubbing has been triggered, there is no way of stopping it. The process must be fully completed before the BlackBerry smartphone may be used. Removing and reinserting the battery of the BlackBerry smartphone will only start the scrubbing process again from the beginning.
The duration of the scrubbing process depends on factors such as the actual processor speed of the BlackBerry smartphone, the amount of memory that it has, and the actual memory speed.
