i assume you are hooking up from tv to receiver with an optical cable? Check the settings on your tv. Most tv's have a setting to turn on/off the optical audio output

Hi,

What model of TV are you hooking the Bose system pls? Alternately, determine if the TV you are hooking it into has a pair of white and red RCA connector marked Audio OUT.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Connected samsung TV to PC vi VGA cable as suggested by samsung support. Visual working correctly, no sound output. Tried hooking up standard audio jack leads with l-r splitter to TV to get audio. No...

You need a seperate speaker system when your tv is on vga there is no option to recieve a sound input. In fact if you hook your cables for sound back up to the tv you will probably find that there is sound but on a diffrent input channel. The other option is to use a diffrent type of connection like hdmi if your computer and tv support it which DOES support audio and vido throught the TV.

Need to hook up bose lifestyle 5 music center to comcast cable sony braveo tv and sony dvd. was hooked up until move do not find manual

I'm in a similar situation where I am hooking up a TiVo Premiere, Panasonic Blu-Ray player, and a LG 47LH90 TV to an old Bose Lifestyle 5 Music Center. After reviewing all of my connectivity options, I've come to settle on the fact that my TiVo will connect via the "Video" input on the Music Center (via red/white RCA). The Blu-Ray player will connect to the "AUX" input on the Music Center. And I'll just have to switch between Video and AUX modes for what I'm watching at the time.

Need a diagram to hook my Bose CinemaT speakers. When I hook it directly to the tv no problem but can't figure out how to hookup my reciever and CD player to work also? Help Please

You'd be better off hooking the speakers to the RECEIVER'S speaker outputs, THEN hooking your TV audio output to an unused receiver input, such as AUX. The signals from your receiver cannot reach the TV; thus your CD player and radio will not play through the speakers if the speakers are hooked to the TV. All receiver INPUTS are designed to accept the same signal level; thus, you can use any input for your TV audio, such as Aux, DVD, CD, etc. Just remember which input you're using for the TV audio, and everything should work fine. Almost all receivers have an AUX input; hopefully yours also has a dedicated CD input to avoid confusion. The you simply select the AUX input to hear your TV through the speakers.

The TV just probably has crappy speakers, I'd suggest hooking it up to a better speaker system.

22" HDTV Gateway monitor volume control

I have the same monitor. There is a way to turn down the volume for the internal speakers. Go to Main menu on the monitor, Advance settings, then into Audio Feed Back. Then adjust the volume from there.
