SOURCE: when plugged into electric outlet(checked

If the power indicator is not working, and your outlet is okay, then the problem is going to be in the cord or wiring. Carefully check the visible portion of the cord. If there are any cuts, or insulation scraped away, take the machine to an authorized Aerus Electrolux store/service center replacement. If no visible damage, take it in and let them find the problem, and repair it. Your vacuum should have many years of use left in it. For the store nearest you, go to http://www.aerushome.com/storelocator/, type in zip code, and click "view dealer list".

SOURCE: vacuum does not have power and indicator light

This light is an indicator that the vacuum is getting power, so there's another problem.
First, turn the dial on top so the smallest dot lines up with the arrow. Then check the after filter beneath the tool caddy. Remove and/or replace if it's dirty. Try the vacuum now. If it still doesn't work, continue.
Turn vacuum off. Detach hose. Turn vacuum on. Does it run without the hose? If not, the control valve assembly inside the vacuum is bad and needs replaced. If it does run without the hose, place palm of hand over opening. Does it run? If it shuts off at this point, the tubes connected to the CVA are probably clogged and need cleaned. Either of these repairs need to be done by an authorized Aerus Electrolux service tech.
Other problems may include bad switches, broken/bad wires/connectors. There is the possibility of a burnt out motor, but it's not likely. The only way to get a definite diagnosis is to take the vacuum to an Aerus Electrolux store and have the tech troubleshoot it.
The nearest store can be found by clicking "store locator" at the bottom of the page on the site below.

SOURCE: Electrolux canister, maybe fifteen years

The light indicates the vacuum is getting power, not only the cord is plugged in. If there's a break in the cord, other wiring, or bad connections, the light will also not light because the vacuum isn't getting power.
Have it checked over at an authorized Aerus Electrolux shop. The service tech can diagnose and tell you the problem, as well as provide an estimate. There should be no charge for this.

Bag light wont turn off

Hi there! The vacuum may be still sensing dirt in the cleaner. Try wiping the area down in and around the bag port. Be sure you are replacing the bag with a genuine Hoover Type Q bag. Also, when assembling the bag remember to slide the red bag door lock to the right to lock it on. If the check bag indicator light still comes on there may be an issue with the sensor on the vacuum. We would recommend taking your vacuum in to a Hoover authorized service center for repair. Hope this helps! Service Center Locator

Should the red light on my 15.6v dustbuster turn green when it's fully charged? It doesn't.

I had the same issue, then i just found the manual, in charging part, it says:"The charging indicator will be lit as long as the
appliance is connected to the plugged-in
charger."
Also it says:"While charging, the charger may get warm, this is
perfectly normal and safe. It can remain on
charge indefinitely without damage or danger. It
is not possible to "overcharge" the battery cells
with the charger provided"

Will not turn on when plugged in

Hi There,

So when this light is displaying, it's says "Bag Full or Clog" on the indicator. If you have changed the bag, and it's still showing this light, it means that you either have a clog in the vacuum, or your filters are dirty, which is reducing the suction and making the machine think that your bag is full. If your machine is actually cutting off, this indicates that your machine is definitely clogged, or something is stuck inside which is causing the motor to not get air flow, and cauing the machine to over heat. When it shuts off like this, it's a protection system that prevents any damage from happening to the motor when it can't breathe and starts to overheat.

My guess is that there is probably a clog in the machine somewhere, or the filters are dirty. Here's what you may do to diagnosis the machine, and try to isolate the clog to find out where it is in the vacuum.

Step 1. Remove the hose and wand assembly from the vacuum cleaner completely. You may do this by pressing the two tabs on the end of the hose that plugs into the vacuum cleaner:

cca2760.jpg
With the hose and the wand removed from the vacuum, it should look like this:

b7c34c5.jpg
Step 2. Now turn the vacuum cleaner on and check to see if the red light comes on while the hose and the wand have been removed. If the light comes on, then this indicates that your filter is dirty (or the PCB electric board is bad if the filter is clean) and needs to be replaced.

Step 2. Re-attach the hose and wand back on the vacuum, but just the end of the hose that goes into the vacuum cleaner, leave the wand out of the vacuum cleaner so it looks like this:

db25806.jpg
Turn the machine on now as if you were using the attachment hose to clean corners or above the floor and see if the red light comes on here. Also listen to the noise the motor makes and see if the noise changes when you put the hose back on the vacuum cleaner. If the red light appears, or if the motor makes a higher pitched noise now, then this indicates that you have a clog in your hose or wand. You may verify this by remove the hose again from the vacuum, and also removing the wand from the hose by pressing the hose release button on the wand and pulling the hose out of the wand. Look down both of the parts and see if you can see thru both sides. If you're not able to see light through the hose, or the wand, this indicates this is where the clog is. You may take a metal clothes hanger, and try removing the clog this way.

Step 3. If the red light did not display with the wand not inserted into the vacuum, put the wand back into the vacuum cleaner as if you were vacuuming the floors:

1a089d0.jpg
Turn the machine on, and see if the red light comes on in this position. If the light does come on, then this indicates that you have a clog in the bottom of the vacuum cleaner. To check and see the clog in the bottom of the machine, I find it easiest to remove the upper bag housing from the vacuum cleaner completely so you're just looking at the bottom power nozzle of the vacuum cleaner. There's a button at the bottom of the machine that is either a grey, or yellow color depending on what color your vacuum is. Simply press this button in, and lift upwards on the handle or the bag housing at the same time:

2b91587.jpg
Step 4. After the bag housing has been removed, turn the lower part of the vacuum upside down so the brushes are facing upwards. There's a little orange flap on the bottom of the machine that is actually a clog port. Almost every time there is a clog in a Sebo, this is where I typically find the clog. Open up this orange colored trap door, and look to see if you can see any obstruction or clog underneath of here:

08da832.jpg
Step 5. You may rotate the neck of the power nozzle part towards you so that you may look inside to see if you see any obstructions inside:

c034305.jpg
Step 5. You may also remove the brushes from the vacuum and look behind the brushes at the suction port, or the area where the suction goes through the vacuum to see if you see anything obstructing the suction here.

These are really the only places that the Sebo can get clogged. If you checked all of these areas, and the red light is still displaying, this means that your PC Board that controls this indicator has gone bad, and needs to be replaced. If this is the case, please just reply to this repair using the comment field, and I'll be more then happy to help you through the replacement of replacing the PCB Board.

I hope this answer was helpful to you, and you were able to find the clog and fix the problem. Thank you so much,

How do you install the belt on the kirby vacuum?

Step 1:
UNPLUG YOUR KIRBY VACUUM CLEANER. Before you go any further, take your time with this belt change. It's not that difficult, just a little different than most other vacuums. These belts are very easy to find on the internet. kirby-oldstyle1.jpg Step 2:
You should be facing the front of your Kirby vacuum. The height adjustment lever will be on your right. Push the lever all the way down. Lift the light hood with your left hand. Turn theKirby vacuum belt lifter counter-clockwise with your right hand. Unlock the accessory lock. The accessory lock is located under the light hood. Move the lock to the left to disengage it. Remove the front of the vacuum cleaner.
kirby-oldstyle2.jpg kirby-oldstyle2a.jpg Step 3:
Turn the vacuum belt lifter all the way clockwise until the belt drops down. Unlock the roller plate by releasing the two latches on the rear. Pull the roller plate up slightly and then off. kirby-oldstyle3.jpg kirby-oldstyle3a.jpg
Step 4:
Bend one end of the roller bracket just enough to remove the roller. Remove this end of the roller. If you need to replace the roller take it all the way out. Remove any carpet fiber, string, or hair from the roller with a scissor.

kirby-oldstyle4.jpg kirby-oldstyle4a.jpg Step 5:
After you have removed the old belt, slide the new one back on the middle of the roller. If you're Kirby vacuum cleaner has a belt indicator light, the roller will have a magnet built onto one end of it. It's very important to install to install a roller with a magnet on the same side as the indicator light. The roller actually will only fit into the roller plate one way.
kirby-oldstyle4.jpg Step 6:
Place the roller back in the roller bracket. Place the roller bracket back and lock it into place with the 2 latches. Rotate the vacuum cleaner belt lifter counter-clockwise. You should feel the the belt catch. Look inside to make sure the belt is being stretched onto the vacuum belt lifter. Reassemble the machine. After you have reassembled your Kirby, turn the belt lifter cockwise, releasing the vacuum belt onto the vacuum motor shaft. kirby-oldstyle2.jpg
