Question about HP Pavilion dv9700t Notebook PC
My laptop had been on for a long while, and then while trying to close a window the screen went blank with perhaps a faint sound - it happened fast. this has happened before and i usually turn the laptop power off and then on again. i tried a 30 second "cold freeze" which sometimes works. i'm not very knowledgeable about computers. this time i could hear no sound of the system "trying" to boot, which i usually can.
the light where the power cord is plugged into the laptop is on. the light where the yellow cord goes to the internet connection is off - this never happened before. when i press the power button on, the lights on the display above the keys on the keyboard, and the light on the mouse pad momentarily turn on and then off.
At the bottom of the laptop, find and open the placing of RAM. Unplug each RAM from its bank, clean each RAM and also its bank, Plug them again in different bank. Lock your placing, now check.
Just remember to take your time and don't get nervous working on the computer. Please report back to the thread with the results of your work.
