Try installing a brand new needle and verify that it is installed with the flat side facing the correct direction in the machine.

If this doesn't improve your situation, most likely your machine has been knocked out of time. Search for sewing machine timing or take it for service.

The bobbin housing in singer model 9410 keeps moving out of position

After you put the bobbin case in, release it, and then pull on it to make sure it is in correctly.
The gathering is called a "bird's nest", and is caused by the machine not being threaded correctly.
Rethread the machine top and bobbin.
Then, sew a test stitch on a scrap of like material.

My singer model 237 makes a stitch that doesn't look right. The bottom thread is just goes through the top thread loops under the material

Hi, if stitches are off, there is a problem with balance between the upper and lower stitch adjustments. You have to tweak these. Also, make sure there is no lint in the bobbin case area or under the feeddogs. Here is an excellent blog for 237 Fashion Mate owners. You are lucky to have one of these from the 1960's. http://blog.sew-classic.com/2010/02/02/singer-237-fashion-mate-sewing-machine-reveiw.aspx

I have a Singer 2662. It has quit picking up the thread to make a stitch.

Try a new needle. If that doesn't work, then the timing is probably off. Check for a broken or stripped gear.

Singer 9410 bobbin problems

It should not affect the winding, the reason the needle is still going up and down is because the oil has gone dry on the shaft and unless you can get to the shaft where the balance wheel is then it would be wise to take the machine in for a service, loose stitching on the bottom is a tension problem, make sure the top tension is set about 4 or 5

Be sure you are using a Class 66 bobbin for this Singer machine. Using another style bobbin can cause tension problems and thread looping/bunching.
