Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: 2001 Mustang GT. Motor shut

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

You may just have system failure. As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you remove the positive battery connector and let it sit for at least 5mins. before reconnecting it. This will reset the system and can get your vehicle back to it's normal operation.

This thing really happens and reconnecting the positive battery connector serves like a jumpstart to the vehicle's PCM (powertrain control module).

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

How to connect the battery charger to the stairlift on my stannah 400 stairlift

I'm not completely sure but I suspect there is a socket on the end of the rail, one at the top and one at the bottom.

I need the details of servicing a Stannah 420 stairlift

hi, one of the main things for the 420 is the replacement of batteries if the stair lift is slowing down , also make sure the charger is working correctly...and keeping the chair at the very top or bottom so the batteries are on charge ready for use...

Checking the brushes, looking at less than 50% wear, making sure there are no large build-up of carbon, if so clean the motor brush area using a electronic contact cleaner .. looking at the teeth on main gear making sure it is clean free of dirt etc..

Looking at the brake that is located on the end of the motor making sure once again it gripping and the chairlift once it has stopped does not slip or move slightly ...Electronic contact cleaner here if you feel it dragging, a nice loud click is required here as that's telling you the brake is running freely...

Regards
Mick

I would always advise a professional to service the stair lift on a yearly basis...

Code f7 showing & chair won't lift

Going to the user's manual: https://www.ameriglide.com/cache/1475784382000/resources/product/615/productDocument/292.pdf
I see that the F code indicates that there is a fault at the motor, possibly corrected by doing a "reset". Directions are in the user manual. The 7 indicates a fault at the "downside safety edge", the little micro-switch on the downhill side of the footplate. See if there is something holding that little projecting piece of plastic that triggers the micro-switch from springing back out to its normal position. Good luck!

I need to replace batteries on a Stannah Stairlift model 300, but I don't know how. Please help!

As you sit in the Stannah seat on your right side just under the seat is a lid that pops down. There should be two batteries. There's a metal band that holds the batteries in place, a slot on the side of the batterie case lets you press in with knife blade or whatever fits the slot. Be sure when instaling new batteries that you get positive to positive and negative to negative.
