SOURCE: I have a Craftsman model

the methodology for rolling code remote systems is called invite. The old system used a switch block with 5 to 7 switches that need to be set.
Invite method, BEWARE that the button is often dual function, press for LONG duration, and you remove ALL remotes..... What you do is press the invite button, usually some light flashes, then you press the button on the remote and the two devices handshake and set a code. This code changes on every use, automatically.

What part do I need to replace to get the lights to work on a Craftsman garage door opener?

Sounds like a broken or disconnect wire. At least start their. Unplug operator. Take the cover/shroud off, using a bright flash light check all the wires for breaks or disconnects. Repair or reconnect. Also check the bulb screw housing are connect on the back side.

How to get garage door back to normal operation from manual operation

If you lift the garage door up by hand it should lock into the trolley. Once the door is up, if it does not lock in, they close it by pushing the close button and it should lock in automatically.

Hi I have a liftmaster garage door opener. It has been stopping alot during the opening and closing process. Nevertheless, it has continued to work. Now when I hit the main button on the wall,...

There are a couple of different models out there but they are all pretty much the same. Have you tried running the operator with the door being in manual mode? If you have not, push the wall button and see if the operator does anything.

If the operator runs fine without the door attached then try this:

Look for 2 blue tear drop shaped knobs, if you have a one light bulb or a 2 light bulb front and back those knobs will be on the back. If you have a 2 light bulb side to side, the knobs will be on the right side (right next to where the wires hook in to the operator). Turn the knobs slightly clockwise. The door should then move. If it moves more than it did but still stops, tweak them just a little at a time.

Let me know if this helps or not.

Genie Compact 3-Button Remote control will only open 1 door/not 2

On some of the remotes you will find a toggle switch to change frequencies, this might help. Note all new openers are operating on a different frequency than slightly older ones due to military interference. Even though both might be intellicode they might not work together on the same remote. Sometimes some openers are harder to program than others. So lets try to program the harder one. You need to find and press the learn button on the motor head. Then press the button on the remote once. The led light by the learn button should not flash. If so try it over. The light should either stay lit or go out after the first press. If it does press it again and then a third time. If it ever flashes during the program process try again. The third or fourth time the motor should operate. If not you either have a bad remote or more than likely a bed logic board. Thanks BB

I have 2 liftmaster 3245. The hand held remotes were working fine then stopped. I replaced the batteries and turned of all electrical/RIF close by. Still not working. Both cars operate the doors with no...

You need to reprogram the remotes by briefly pushing the learn button on the garage door opener until it flashes once, then release the button on the garage door opener.

Now press the remote button once until you hear the garage door opener click, now press the remote button once again and the remote should be programmed to work for that garage door opener.

DO NOT press and hold the garage door opener learn button for more than 10 seconds or you'll erase all programs and have to relearn all the remotes, including your car ones.

Hope you found this very helpful and best regards.

Remote not working

you will need to train (link) the remote to the garage door opener. to do this you will need to find the remote "train" button on the operator.
If you have the manual for the garge door opener this will show you where it is located.
push the train button on the operator, an LED light will start blinking. Then push one of the buttons on the remote. the LED light on the operator will stay on. push the button on the remote again and the light on the operator will turn off.
try the remote it should work now.

Craftsman chain drive opener won't stay down

Check the down limit:
If the light bulb(s) on your operator are on the front and/or back, the limit adjustment screw is on the left side of the operator (looking from the back of the operator and facing the garage door).. If the lights are on the sides of the operator then the limit adjustment screw is on the left side (looking from the back of the operator and facing the garage door).

Check the up and down force:
On your operator (the box that hangs from the ceiling). If the light bulb(s) on your operator are on the front and/or back, the force adjustment screw is on the back of the operator. If the lights are on the sides of the operator then the force adjustment screw is on the right side (looking from the back of the operator and facing the garage door). Turn the light blue adjustment screw with the up arrow to a higher number.

Garage door pad

You need to press and release the learn botton (don't hold it or you will clear all the codes)
If the light bulb(s) on your operator are on the front and/or back, the learn botton is on the back of the operator. If the lights are on the sides of the operator then the learn botton is on the right side (looking from the back of the operator and facing the garage door).
After you press the learn button you have about 30 seconds to press in the new 4 digit code in your key pad then hold the enter button until the light on the operator blinks (about 2 seconds). If this does not work check the battery and try it again.
