SOURCE: Hitachi 32LD8700 - TV won't turn on although has power

The general problem with LCD type TV's is that the power supply fails. They are very sophisticated designs that are difficult to troubleshoot and generally best to just replace the module, but sometimes there is visible damage in some of the electrolytic capacitors (visibly bulged) and high voltage rated parts can be substituted.
Hope Ya Fix It

If you have Hitachi model number 50UX58B, 60UX58B, 50UX58K, 60UX58K, 50SBX78B or 60SBX78B and you have the following symptoms you may want to grab a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit that includes the parts and instructions to fix these models. This is a fairly common problem with the above model numbers. It is typically caused by a blown capacitor and pico fuse. Again, you can get a kit from the above address.
Here are the symptoms...

Primary Symptom: No Audio or Video. Power light will come on briefly then shut off.
Other Possible Symptoms : The green LEDs on the circuit board light up for a few seconds then turn off.

Hope this helps,

SOURCE: No Picture & No sound. Red LED, Green LED, Red LED.

If the power supply outputs are good! Then I would say the back light inverter is bad! If the screen stays black and does not come on.

IF your not getting sound and its shutting down it could be a the main board, or the power supply (huge board in there.) I just got done parting one of these tvs that was in a vacation rental. the tv met with an unfortunate accident so the screen was cracked and so on. Anyhow if your intrested i have the main board and the power supply board for that exact model. I was listing them on ebay and saw this post. Listing here. I am going to probaly get about 25 buck a board (very cheap) plus shipping. IF your intrested let me know and I list that power supply board as well. I can't guarentee it will fix it but its worth the shot for 50 plus shipping. form my experience with mostly LCD tvs if your not getting sound odds are its the main board. I also listed what was refered to as the signal scaler (logic board)

LG LED TV no sound or pictures

If you have already been inside of the back circuit board area, make sure that you don't use any type of magnetic screw drivers or any thing that can statically discharge a capacitor etc. Next since you say there are 3 boards present, the board, you are looking for is the power board. How to identify the correct one, follow the AC cord from the plug into the board that it first attaches to.That is the power board.Carefully disconnect any 6 pin or any multi pin connector and mark them for re assembly. There should be 6-8 screws that are removed then remove board.Have a very bright light on hand and carefully examine the board for any broken circuits or burnt components. If found ,go online and search eBay Amazon etc. For replacement board. Assembly is reversed order of removal.

RED AND GREEN LED INDICATORS This smoke alarm features separate red and green LED indicators. The LEDs indicate the following: GREEN LED CONSTANT ON - AC power is present. OFF - AC power is not present. RED LED - Can be seen through the Push-to-Test button. Blinks once a minute - Indicating presence of a working battery. Blinks once a second - Smoke alarm senses smoke and simultaneously sounds an audible alarm. Blinks once every 10 seconds - Smoke alarm is quieting an unwanted alarm (Model ADC only). (Interconnected system only): OFF - Another smoke alarm in the network has sensed smoke and is signalling this alarm.

My philips 42in lcd tv screen went black, I found a faulty slave inverter and replaced it. Now the screen is still black but my blue led comes on when I plug the tv (without turning the tv on) and fl

However it may sound to you the inverter does not affect the TV's ON/OFF status (i.e. the LED at the front) in almost no way except possibly in case of a dead short when the power board may detect it and shut the whole TV off.

You can disconnect the inverter from power and I bet you the TV will continue doing the same as before.

An inverter is nothing more than a voltage transformer - well, with a key for turning on/off and usually another control for selecting another paramenter, which results in brightness (higher avg output voltage and lower avg output voltage, aka DIM).

For more details I'll need to know the model and I can probably help better.

LG 17LX1R flashing red LED - TV won't power up

Try changing the input device to something you are sure, works such as a DVD player.

Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours.

If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

When I turn on the TV the blue indicator light comes on but there is no display, then the blue light starts blinking.

The following steps should be able to correct the problem:
1) Unplug the TV or remove AC power from the TV
2) Count to ten and then plug in the TV
3) Locate the [Menu], [VOL-] and [Power] button on the TV’s side panel
4) Using the buttons on the TV’s Side Panel, press and hold both the [Menu] and [VOL-] buttons.
5) While holding those buttons, press and release the [Power] button one time and count to 3 before releasing the [Menu] and [VOL-] buttons.
6) The TV’s lower left Blue Power LED will come ON.
7) Wait 30 seconds. Confirm that the blue LED on the Lower Left of the TV (not the iPod dock for iPod models) has remained ON during this time.
8) Press the [Mute] button on the TV remote twice
9) Unplug the TV or remove AC power
10) Count to ten and plug the TV in
11) The TV power should automatically come ON and the blue power LED with be ON
12) Wait 40 seconds and the TV picture should appear
13) You can now continue using your TV.
14) If the picture does not appear, power on the TV manually:
· If the LED begins flashing, unplug and power ON a second time.
· If the LED begins flashing again, power ON the TV without unplugging
If the LED begins flashing again, contact us directly by phone to obtain a local authorized service center for you.
If the TV does power on, please reply back with the software version number for us to research this issue. Please follow these steps to obtain the software version number:

1) Press the [Menu] button on the remote control.
2) Using the arrow keys in the center of the remote, scroll over to the "settings" menu and select the [OK] button on the remote
3) Scroll down to "system info" and select [OK] button on the remote

Lost power

The symptom you have needs to be looked at by a qualified technician for proper diagnosis. There are 9 LED`s ( 8 green, 1 red) in the power supply that light up under normal condition. These LED`s are used to help pinpoint the area of trouble. For example, when power is applied all LED`s but one lights up. The unlit LED may indicate the +27 volt source is bad. That will alert the technician to check components related to the +27v line. Since there are 8 green LED`s and 1 red, each having multiple suspects leads us to Mr Spock`s comment to captian Kirk." there are endless possibilities"
