How can I tell how old my Remington firearm is?
If you will call and provide us the serial number and model number we can determine the approximate age of your firearm.
Serial numbers were not required until 1968. For models without a serial number, we may be able to determine the age by the 2-3 letters that are stamped on the barrel.

If you have purchased an Original Adobe Photoshop, The seller must have provided you with the details or it should be on the product pack. Please check the same. If you are unable to locate it still, it would be wise to contact the Product retailer for these details.
As these details carry the ownership of the product, it shouldnot be disclosed and it should not be asked for when a customer says he has a genuine product. Try the options i just discussed. Good Luck.

Both models 1100 and 1187 have a variety of replacement barrels available for them. They are fairly common. Can't help you with the date but Remington is an outstanding firearms company to deal with. Try their website.

Remington Year of Manufacture Codes maybe found on the barrel of your Remington rifle [or shotgun] on the left side, just forward of the receiver; the first letter of the Code is the month of manufacture, followed by one or two letters which are the year of manufacture. For shotguns with removeable barrels, the code will be valid for the manufacture of the barrel; maybe for the receiver, as barrels do get switched around.
According to the "Blue Book of Gun Values", the coding continues as follows:
Month Codes: [first letter]
B - L - A - C - K - P - O - W - D - E - R - X
1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 - 11 - 12
Year:______Code: [second (and third*) letters]
* the years 1943 though 1953 had double letters: ie, MM = 1943
As maybe seen, the year code letters duplicate; some knowledge of when the model was introduced should resolve the actual year of manufacture.
