Question about Maytag Dryers
The door on my Maxim dryer is slightly askew, making it rub on the bottom when I close it. It needs to be lifted a bit so it doesn't rub. How can it be adjusted?

SOURCE: freezer door rubbing
take the freezer door off and put a washer or two on the bottom hinge. sometimes there are extra plastic washers on the top hinge that you can move to the bottom to lift it up.
also check if the hinge is bent or loose, as this may cause the problem.

SOURCE: Doors need adjustment
You should be able to take the top trim caps off the door hinges, loosen the hinge screws a little, and move the door(s) away from the center of the refrig, then re-tighten the hinge screws to get the doors to stop hitting each other. You may want to check the bottom hinge(s) for the hight. The bottom hinges and the bottom of the doors have matching plastic "ramped" washers, which raise the door as it is opened, which help them to self close. If one of those is broken, the hight will be off.

Sounds like the door catch is weak. You can try to spead the prongs on the dryer catch (the metal protusion on the dryer, not the door), but be careful. Unless it's very easy to do, call the wrranty dealer for the the machine since it should still be under warranty and the catch should be replaced at no cost to you.

Your drum may be out of round. The drum belt on the outside of the drum may be rubbing against the cabinet. When the cabinet heats up, the side walls of the cabinet may be bowing inward, thus making contact with the belt on the drum. This would explain why it is intermittant. When the heater turns off, the cabinet cools and the sides bow back out.
