Why does mitsubishi split system heats room 5 degrees hotter than setpoint on remote

It could be something as simple as 'solar gain' adding heat through glass facing the afternoon sun....or maybe the remote is not in a location that senses the average temperture within the room. Maybe the remote is located in a slight draft entering the room.

If the remote was kept above a computer tower, the opposite would be the case.... the heat from the tower would keep the control thinking its warmer in the room than it is. The result would be a much colder room.

Why do salt water aquariums need heating and cooling units?

Most saltwater aquariums are generally used to housetropical fish. Tropical fish are fromthe Tropics (the area of the planet around the equator.) The water temperature varies in differentlatitudes and depths, but it tends to stay between 77-80F (about25-27C). Therefore, you want to houseyour fish in the environment that is most like the one they are accustomed to,if you want them to stay healthy. Therefore, maintaining aquarium temperature with heating and coolingunits is essential.

Our fan keeps turning off in the middle of the night and then immediately back on. This process will repeat all night until you turn it off.

The fan might be set to something called "night mode" (which I have no idea why it's called that because it just keeps me awake). Try changing the mode that the fan is set to. Or, refer to the owners manual.

TV turns off on its own, have to keep turning it back on. This goes on and on about every 5 to 10 minutes.

We have placed a fan on TV and it has solved the problem. I guess it was over heating but for no obvious reason, other than we live in the tropics with no A/C in that room but lots of ventilation.

Can a refrigerator be placed in a garage that houses the electric furnace?

Hi, all fridge freezers work on ambient room temperatures, ie room temperature. Also it will depend on the classification of your fridge freezer. On a normal classification fr/free 70 degrees should be a constant maximum. On a sub normal classification room temp should not exceed 50 degrees. on a sub tropical room temp can be pretty much as warm as you like. On the rating plate inside your fridge freezer two small letters exist (N) normal. (SN) sub normal. (ST) sub tropical. Most fridges will work for a while in the wrong temp but will work too hard and pack up
