Question about Garden

Open Question

My John Deere D110 snowblower won't engage. It looks like the PTO spring hits the hole in the cable bracket before the mower engages. As a result, I can not fully pull the PTO lever to engage.

When I pull on the cable manually, with the cable removed from the cable bracket, the snowblower engages. I just don't see any way to adjust this.

Found one issue and resolved it. It looks like my D110 (newer model) shipped with an older model (longer) spring. The snowblower frame has a different location for this spring to attach to. It still won't engage, but I'm confident that this is part of the solution.

SOURCE: Replaced a broken auger control cable on my 536.881400 snow thrower, but now the auger engage lever cannot be fully pulled back.

possible that is the problem
see if you can move the end of the cable closer down the handle (control lever) to give it enough length
check how you fitted the cable and the spring may fit in a hole on the other side of where you put the cable end

John Deere L110 Mower wont engage

Depending on which type of PTO you have the problem could be simple to diagnose... if you have an electric PTO, you may be dealing with a bad switch... if electric, you should have good tension on the belt at all times. If it is a lever that you push/pull to engage the blades, then it would seem that the tensioner pulley is not applying the required tension on the belt... could be a broken spring or a worn/slipping belt (not enough tension)... hope that gives you somewhere to look into...

Mowerdeck will not engage...

I own a similiar John Deere model (L130, 23HP with a 48" deck). I would check the electric clutch (called a PTO). To do this check the wires to this clutch and look for something disconnected. These wires (to this PTO clutch) should have twelve volts with the key on and the blades engaged.

PTO CONTROLS. How do you engage and disengage PTO.

The tractor is not a 6300 is it.If it' not you need to adjust the cable for the p.t.o. until it will stay down.Don't turn the turnbuckle too much at a time because there is a fine line between the won't engage and the won,t disengage adjustment.

John deere 2010 tractor. pto grinds and wont engage

The PTO usually has a clutch that has to be engaged so that you can select the PTO rotation setting. I had a problem like that on my tractor and all it needed was a little adjustment on the PTO clutch lever, so it could disengage the PTO gearbox properly.
