Detergent doesn't dispense.

Water will clean carpets but not very well. For the best results don't put any cleanser in your machine. Soap can clogged up the lines in your machine. When you have soap dispensed or or in the water in your machine you are squirting it onto the carpet and sucking it back up at the same time...the soap and water isn't on the carpet long enough to clean well unless you keep going over the same area many times. To clean better it's really important to vacuum thoroughly going slowly in multiple directions to get as much dry, gritty soil and hair and dust out as possible, it's easy to get these soils out when the carpet is dry if your vacuum is working properly. Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum.
Get a spray bottle or sprayer and put hot tap water in it, add the cleaning solution to the hot water and spray enough on the carpets to get the face fibers damp...let the hot water solution sit on the carpets 5 or 10 minutes and then use your machine to clean and rinse the soap, water and loosened soils from the carpet fibers. Repeat if necessary. Your carpets will be cleaner because you allowed adequate dwell time for the soap and water to work on the sticky greasy soils attached to the carpet fibers and stay clean longer because the soap is rinsed out of the carpets. Your carpet cleaning machine will last longer too because the water lines, pumps, spray jets, heaters, etc can't get clogged with soap gunk if you don't put soap in it. The method I'm describing is how the best professional carpet cleaners clean carpets. Hiring a quality carpet cleaner cost more up front but the carpets may stay clean two or three times longer, saving a lot of money in the long run. If you clean your carpets using this dual process method you may do a better job with a small portable home or rented cleaner than hiring the average carpet cleaning professional who is trying to give you the lowest price.

How do I fix the problem on my Bissell model # 7920-5 carpet and floor cleaner the water won't spray out onto the carpet

First check your user's guide for filter cleaning. There are two filters both small that need cleaning after each use. If that didn't clear it up call Bissell Consumer Care at 1-800-237-7691

I have a Hoover carpet cleaner that leeks the shampoo water onto the carpet, cannot control it

The machine is standing in the upright position with clean water in it. No power to the machine. If water is pouring out, again no power to machine, then the pump is cracked. I don't know the model number so I am thinking this has a gravity fed pump. It doesn't use electricity to work the pump. Once you pull the trigger water starts to flow. If the pump has a crack water will flow all the time. Hope this helps!

Cleaner wont release or **** up water off the floor

There are a few different problems this could be. Usually when someone says it won't extract water off the floor it is because it is not squirting any water. If it is not doing either then you have more than one problem. You can try to pour some water from a cup onto the floor to see if it is extracting water from the carpet. water not squirting could be clogged jets. Look underneath at the red jets and make sure they're not covered with hair or dirt. You can remove and clean them. It could be the pump is not working properly. On some Bissel units the pump has a cogged belt that turns the brushroll. If sometihing gets caught in the brushroll it can strip the teeth off of the pulley on the end of the pump which means you have to buy a whole new pump. Another problem I occasionally see on this unit is the pump gets full of soap suds and will not pump water. Sometimes I can get it working agian by removing the lines and flushing out all the suds.

No water

check the pump belt that runs from the brushroll to the pump. frequently the plastic gear on the pump wears out. the pumps also frequently fail. check all solution supply lines for cloggs, and most importantly check the spray nozzles inside the unit by the brushes for cloggs. let me know if you need any further instructions. thanks,
chuck

My G series kirby carpet cleaner will not **** up the water or foam very well

The Kirby shampooer deposits the foam onto carpet, and works it into the carpet with the shampooer brushroll. After the carpet is dry,use the vacuum itself to pick up the dry foam and dirt. The Kirby Shampooer is not an extraction shampooer
