Question about Sewing Machines
You don't mention which thread, so am assuming it is upper thread. AVOID old or bargain bin thread. Install a brand new needle. Try a different brand of thread. The tension may be too tight or the machine may be mis-threaded. If it is breaking at the needle eye, change the needle and make sure the needle eye accommodates the thread weight.

Remove the thread (it may be wrapped or snagging somewhere along the path). ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread. Check the thread path. Set the upper tension to the midway point (this will probably need to be tweaked for your particular machine). The tension is correct when the upper and bobbin threads meet in the middle of the fabric.
