I want to hook a Wii up to an older tv that has co-axial, s-video and component inputs. Which can be done and which is best?

Hi,

The best connection that you can use is the Component Inputs (Red/Blue/Green Cables) since the picture that is transmitted by the component cable is a High Definision Picture. Remember that if you will use the Component Cable you must select the Component Input using the original Remote of the TV. Component Cables only generates Video Signal.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Is a Philips SB329986 HD enough for Sky HD?

Cant find specs on your Model. If it is HD 720i or 1080i both will work. But then again the Sky box may convert the HD to composit, which makes ordinary old TV sets look fantastic. On a HD set they look even better. don.t worry it will work.

New vizio 26'' hdtv seems sharp from a distance, but pixalated and

it is important to understand the difference in digital cable and high def. high definision is on a fiber optic display alwing milions of pixels per square inch on your tv. the resolution effects your fuzzy picture you are recieving . the only real way to fix that fuzzy dull picture is to get a HD box from your cable provider and an HDMI cable to conect it to your HD TV. this is the only connection you will need for picture and top line sound. In the end the fee is usually $9.95 or less a month and it is well worth the difference in quality of TV viewing.
