SOURCE: ear pad replacement instructions for Sony MDR-V6 Headphones

Hello to all who have exhausted all avenues seeking instructions on how to remove and replace Ear Pads on Sony MDR-V6 Headphones.... All that is required is a little patience maybe some fingernails... The Pads simply slip on and off by pinching ends of cuff that is nearest the plastic backing of The Headphones by pulling them from their seat/flange .. i found it easiest to just roll the cuff off using my thumb w/rolling motion away from the plastic backing/housing of the headphones.. no tools required.. they are installed exactally like one would place a tire on a rim.. exact same motion is required as when removing a tire.. i can give no better illustruction than comparrison to tire removal and replacement. Be careful to make sure one end in completely set deeply into one side before attempting to pull opposing side over its side/flange..start on top and work way around to bottom or vise versa.. To get an idea of what you are attempting to do take a close look at new headphone pad rear and you will see the small flap of leather on rear .. there is a small overlap that fits perfectly over the flange.. dont try to force it as you may tear them...

SOURCE: The jack on my Sony MDR-NC6 has broken off. Can I

See my tip on dodgy cable/jack on headphones. If the jack is different to the one shown, you should be able to get it from Maplin (UK user) or Radio Shack (USA).

SOURCE: I am looking for replacement

Yes, the replacement pad for mdr 7506 fits in for the v600. They can be replaced for one another. There are different types of v600 and 7506, You just have to look for the 7506 that looks more like the v600. That should do the job for you. Hope this information helped You.

SOURCE: Can I replace the ear

Hey--it was reassuring to see that I'm not the only one with this question. Lots of places (Staples, Radio Shack) have the right size replacements, but it takes a little more digging to be sure you can find something more than what looks like doughnut-shaped packing material. B&H Photo Audio does, and here's a link: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/582208-REG/Pearstone_8091000_Replacement_Earpads_Pair.html

You will have to buy a new head set. What probably happened is the wire connection to the left speaker has been broke.

Are there replacement ear pads that will fit on my 2005 Sony headphones ?

There are lots of generic (Chinese) replacement ear pads for Sony on ebay or Amazon, you'll just have to take some measurements and try to match what's available. Check the diameter in centimeters, and the shape (round or oval). You may not find a specific listing for MDR-RF960RK but a lot are interchangeable.

Mdr-rf 4000 sony cordless headphones

Go to the sound icon and right click and press Playback Devices, cick your headphones then properties then advanced and then turn up the sampling rate all the way 24 bit, 192000hz.

Also make sure your batteries are good and windows sound is turned all the way up and lower down on the physical headset.... this took me months to figure out!

It appears that my battery for these headphones doesn't hold it's charge....It's hardly been used Battery type.....BP HP550-11 for headphones Serial No MDR RF 840RK

Even though you can use regular AAA batteries (that you would have to replace often), there is a huge convenience factor with using the charging cradle that comes with the Sony headset. A solution I found was that I ordered some 550 mAh AAA batteries through Ebay (they came from England and cost me $8 total for four batteries). To make the charging cradle work with the new batteries installed in the Sony headset you MUST use the bottom part of the plastic battery holder piece on the BP-HP550-11 battery pack (all you need to do is peel off the BP-HP550-11 label and the bottom half of the plastic battery holder piece slips off of the Sony batteries). Then just slip in the new AAA batteries into the plastic battery holder bottom and then insert into the headset. The reason why you must use the bottom of the battery holder plastic piece is because the plastic piece pushes on a little switch. This switch activates the charging mechanism inside the headset to enable the cradle charger to charge the batteries.

NOTE: I am not an electronics expert so I do not know if there would be any problem using other rechargeable AAA batteries (with higher mAh ratings). So I decided to be safe than sorry and ordered the 550 mAh batteries through Ebay.

Since many Sony headsets use the BP-HP550-11 battery pack, I assume your battery pack is the same. If not, I assume whatever battery pack your headset came with, it is some type of plastic holder that holds two batteries together. I have Model MDR-RF970R and the battery is not holding a charge. Where can I get another battery? The # on the battery is BP-HP550-11/2.4v 550mAh. Thanks. Joe

Sony has some special case they put around the original 2 batteries to hold them together.

You don't need to buy special batteries. You can put regular AAA NiMH in.

To remove the compartment cover on the headsets make sure you hold down the pressure button on the left headphone to release the cover. Mine has the words "PUSH" on them.

With the cover removed you can then see the original BP-HP550 sony battery. Which you can remove and put 2 regular AAA batteries in.
