Locked administrator

For Windows Password:
1. Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box.
2. Type \Administrator\ (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank.
3. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you should be able to reset your account password from \Control Panel - User Accounts\.
Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Log in screen.

WIN VISTA boots up to the login screens. When I

try going into safe mode, usualy by pressing f8 after restarting it,then select safe mode and see if it boots. If it does boot then you most likely have a driver, virus or maleware problem. There is always the system restore option too from safe mode.

Trying to load windows xp service pack 2 forgot my password

Hi,

For XP professional

When the computer gets to the login screen hold down both Ctrl and Alt and then hit the Del key twice. A new login window will appear.
In the top pane type administrator and hit enter. Hopefully you can log in as admin. If it lets you in go to the control panel and select "User Accounts" select "Change an Account" and the click on your account and remove the password. Click Apply and log out.

You should then be able to access your account.

For XP Home

Restart the computer and repeatedly press F8 until you see a list with safe mode at the top. Navigate to safe mode using the up cursor key and hit enter. You will see white text on the screen, this just means its loading up its basic drivers, so be patient!!

When you get to the login screen click on administrator and let it load up. Now all you have to do is go to the control panel, user accounts, change an account, click on your account and remove the password.

Please post back if you need anymore advice.

Good luck.

Blue Screen

Reboot the laptop and press F8 and go into the safe mode but not as the user you're logging into with. Like the admin user. Under C:\Documents and Settings rename the user login you use to backup_username. Don't worry Windows OS will rebuild the profile account.

Note if you can't get into the safe mode then your OS is corrupted and would need to be re-installed. There are Windows Repair option but it may or may not work. Give it a try.
