I have a problem with my labtop..i broght an external burner for my labtop and i connect it to one of my usb ports and in back of the burner the led light flashes red but it needs to be a steady blue light...

Probably you need USB 2.0 drivers. Most generic windows drivers are not "enhanced usb". Possibly you may be able to examine the existing driver and manually change it if it offers the option "enhanced host controller " This page offers a complete explanation and downloads. You may also find that you need a specific driver for your burner - check the burner manufacturers site to see if they offer a driver.

Bios not find hard disk

If the laptop cannot detect the hard drive. This can be caused by a faulty disk controller, or a faulty disk drive.

1st. Reseat the hard drive and see if the laptop boots up.

2nd. Go into the BIOS configuration and see if the BIOS detects the hard drive.

3rd. If the BIOS can't detect the hard disk, the remove the hard drive and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter and plug it into a working computer's USB port. If this computer detects this drive as an external disk drive and you can see the contents of the hard drive, then the hard drive is OK and the fault is in the laptop.

4th. If the hard drive cannot be detected then the hard drive is faulty, you need to replace the faulty hard drive in your laptop and install Windows to get an operating laptop again.

Problem with my Dell Inspiron 5160 USB port

This is either a driver glitch or a faulty port. Start by uninstalling the usb drivers from the device manager, then reboot. The machine will find the ports and reinstall the drivers automatically. If this doesn't fix it, then the ports are faulty and will need replaced. The usb ports are very simple devices, when the drivers are present, they either work or they don't. Other than the drivers, they have nothing else to go bad other than the port itself, and in general, when one goes they all go.
