What should tour sygar test for normal

A1C: 7%
A1CA1C is a test that measures a person's average blood glucose level over the past 2 to 3 months. Hemoglobin (HEE-mo-glo-bin) is the part of a red blood cell that carries oxygen to the cells and sometimes joins with the glucose in the bloodstream. Also called hemoglobin A1C or glycosylated (gly-KOH-sih-lay-ted) hemoglobin, the test shows the amount of glucose that sticks to the red blood cell, which is proportional to the amount of glucose in the blood.X may also be reported as eAG: 154 mg/dlmilligrams (MILL-ih-grams) per deciliter (DESS-ih-lee-tur), a unit of measure that shows the concentration of a substance in a specific amount of fluid. In the United States, blood glucose test results are reported as mg/dL. Medical journals and other countries use millimoles per liter (mmol/L). To convert to mg/dL from mmol/L, multiply mmol/L by 18. Example: 10 mmol/L ?¯?¿?½ 18 = 180 mg/dL.X
  • Before a meal (preprandial plasma glucose): 80-130 mg/dl
  • 1-2 hours after beginning of the meal (Postprandial plasma glucose)*: Less than 180 mg/dl

REASONS FOR FLASHING BLOOD DROP SYMPBOL ON CHOLESTEROL METER WHILST STRIP WAS COVERED CORRECTLY WITH BLOOD

    Hi,

I use an Abbott Precision Xtra glucose / ketone tester, that sound similar to yours. On mine, you do not place a drop of blood ON the strip, you place the end of the strip in the drop of blood. There is a very narrow channel that then sucks up the blood by capillary action, and in the case of my tester, it beeps to acknowledge when it has enough.

On the colored side of my strips you can see the blood rise in the opening. After the beep the symbols change to a countdown while the meter does its work

I hope this will gice you at least one thing to try and observe the results of.

It is possible you had a bad strip. It does not happen often, but it does occur from time to time.

    Good luck
    John

What are low glycemic index foods

This index indicates the relative effect of a food on the body's blood sugar level. Pure glucose has a GI of 100.

A low GI food is one with an index of less than 55, and will have less effect on blood sugar level rise, so is better for diabetics.

GI is not an indicator of speed of blood sugar rise after eating, but generally speaking low GI foods will also release glucose to the blood more slowly.

This depends on your view of a severe reaction, but if you have taken insulin you must eat some carbohydrates soon afterwards certainly within half hour, or blood glucose will drop to dangerous levels and may cause death.

I want to know the normal average of my blood glucose in ascencia contour.

The first thing to do is to get the ascencia contour strips then plug it to the meter. It has a sip-in action that accepts a tiny blood sample into the strip. The result of your blood glucose will appear at the screen. You must look for patterns in your blood sugar readings and vary the times that you test. Consider testing 2 hours before and 2 hours after the first bite of your meal. You must perform this each meal to learn how your body is reacting to your food, exercise, medications and etc. You can also test your blood glucose at bedtime or even at the next morning to see what occurs overnight when you are not eating for several hours. this is fasting blood sugar. By doing these, you can compare the results of your blood glucose level and you can also know the normal level of your blood glucose.
