Question about Jet Plumbing

I have a utilitech jet pump and when I was running down a short and removed the 115/230 converter switch the wire came loose now I have no idea how to wire it back up

Look on the inside of the cover you removed. There is often a diagram on how to convert to and from 110v to 220v.

Before you start changing all sort of parts, correct your problem with the wires. You may have to change most of them, depending on how bad the chemical burned tru them.

A good cleaning is required because that soap is going to continue chewing on those wires.

You're right about a short causing other component failure. But first repair those wires

SOURCE: I have a utilitech jet pump in which i have to turn off the power switch and wait ten minute, then turn it back on so it could run the water.

An electrical fault is tripping off the power relay. Check the current draw of the pump motor.

SOURCE: I have a Utilitech 3/4 HP jet shallow well pump #0003134. On start up, it hums a long! time before turning, sometimes tripping the 15 AMP breaker. Anything I can do?

Try replacing first the capacitor. If it will not solve your problem, check the integrity of the motor winding insulation by doing a line to body resistance measurement. If it is okay, replace the motor bearings.

I have a UtiliTech 1/2 HP Jet pump #0003124. I need a manual. Can I get a larger volume impeler for this mode?l

Put a vacuum gauge on the suction, see if it goes real low after pumping a couple of gallons. If so, your point may be stopped up. A 1/2 hp pump should pump 40/50 psi, fill a 5 gal bucket in a minute or so.

Where do the wire leads connect to the switch?

Look on the id plate on the motor, and inside the cover on the back and inside the switch cover.

Why does my pump loose pressure

Sounds like your not using enough water, and or your pipes to sprinkler is to to small, causing pump to build up to cut off head. I cant lay my hands on a performance chart for your pump, but 60 psi cut off and 20 on sounds about right. Try running another tap when your sprinkler is running, and see if this keeps your pump running

Can the pressure switch on the Utilitech 1hp convertible shallow well pump be changed from 20/40 to 30/50?

Yes, if the plumbing can handle the extra pressure. There should be a nut in the middle of a large spring inside the pressure switch. Turn that nut clockwise to increase the pressure. You may need to run some water to keep the pump cycling while you do this.

How do I tell the pump to shut off when up to pressure?

The black cover on the side is the pressure switch. Open it you will see two screws with springs on them. Don't touch the short one. The tall one will adjust the pressure. Clockwise for more, counterclockwise for less. Cover should have diagram.

Utilitech jet pumps

This sound could be many things. It could be cavitation from a suction obstruction. IT could be a bearing or a bushing. IT could be something lodged in the impellors. YOu will have to take it out and disassemble it to see.
