Question about Samsung PN64D7000 64" Plasma 3D HDTV PN64D7000FFXZA

Open Question

I have a Samsung Plasma TV PN64D7000FF that continually power cycles on and off. I need help determining which board is bad.

The TV power cycles correctly - logo screen appears and input indicator HDMI2 appears in upper left before unit shuts off and starts up again. I have verified key voltages Va, Vsc, Vs, and Ve at the available test points on the power supply and X/Y boards. Logic board LED indicator heartbeat blinks at the correct rate i.e. no drive failures detected while unit is on. I have also bypassed the main board short PS-ON to GND and jumped pins 3&4 on logic board and watched test pattern screens; I didn't see any anomalies in the video - no bad lines, no missing pixels, no missing brightness, etc. I also tested 5V and 15V pins between power supply and main board - all appear correct. I do not see any blown capacitors or burnt IC's from a visual inspection. Y board does hum while power is applied. Any help determining which board is bad or further troubleshooting steps would be appreciated.

Sony BRAVIA Fails to fully Power ON. TV shuts off when backlight should kick in, after logo lights and fades. 'standby' blinks 6 times.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

I plugged in my Garmin Nuvi 40LM to the computer and got the updates. But my keyboard is still not responding correctly. I push 5 and get a 6 or push T and get a Y. Any ideas?

Try recalibrating the display. Turn off the Nuvi. Place your finger on the upper left-hand corner of the screen and hold it there while pushing down on the power button to turn the unit on. Release the power button when the Garmin logo appears. Continue to press on the upper left-hand corner of the screen until you see the calibration screen.

Press all of the dots as they are presented. Once completed the Nuvi will display Calibration Complete

This will recalibrate your touchscreen to the LCD display. If this doesn't resolves your problem. then your touchscreen may be defective.

I turn on the cable and power button then the TV and poweer on and only balck screen and AV appears in the right hand corner. Can't get my TV to wrok. Yet the one in the living room works

Make sure that the source input is set correctly. You can select the different "source inputs" using your TV remote. For example, if the cables from the cable box going to your TV are going into AV1 port on your TV then you need to select AV1 as the "source input" on your TV settings. This works the same with HDMI1, HDMI2, ect.

How do i program my remote

Hello;

Without knowing the codes for the specific brand names and models of your devices, this is how you program the Zenith MBR3447 for your TV, VCR, DVD Player, CD Player or Audio Receiver:

TV

1. Push the "Power" button on the TV to turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "TV" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the TV's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the TV fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the TV does shut off. Each time the "Power" button is pressed the Zenith MBR3447 tries using a different TV device code from its code library to turn the TV off. Therefore, when the TV finally does shut off it's an indication that the remote is temporarily programmed with the correct device code to control the brand of TV you're using.
6. Press "Enter" to save the current code.

VCR

1. Push the "Power" button on the VCR to turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "VCR" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the VCR's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the VCR fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the VCR does shut off. Then press "Enter."

DVD Player, CD Player or Audio Receiver

1. Push the "Power" button on the device your programming the remote to control to manually turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "AUX" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the device's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the device fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the device does shut off. Then press "Enter."

Brief power on then shuts off

It could be a component short or crack on the power supply board. Open the back of the TV and look for signs of defect. The power supply board is the brown one on the right with huge capacitors.

Hi, was there a resolution to this? I am experiencing the same problem with LCT3285TA purchased at Radio Shack in Media, PA. Radio Shack has refused to service the unit and has put me over to Akai for the manufacturer's warranty. I'd like to know what to expect and if this problem with the Logo coming up and the unit shutting off/restarting can be easily fixed, thanks.

Blub goes out during use.

Most fans have a sense line to detect the fan is working properly, Possible the sense circuit has failed. The unit should not start if it thinks the fans are not running. Possible thermal problem with the sense circuit, since your unit starts up then stops.
