How do I adjust blade in B&D JS600 so that it is parallel with the shoe sides?

There are two torx screws holding clamp on (?), but I cannot find any manual or online reference to those parts (except in parts list and schematics) or adjustments.

How do I change the paper?


I'm not familiar with that particular model, but they are virtually all replaced the same way. There are a few screws through the pad into the base. Simply remove them and screw the new pad on. You'll see that it's quite simple once you get the new pad in your hands.

How do I make adjustments on my ridged r4512 table saw?


The carriage under the table is held to the underside of the table with several bolts or screws. Loosen those screws.
Raise the blade and clamp a stiff metal straight edge to the side of the blade. Use a carbide blade and clamp the straight edge to the sides of the teeth. Move the carriage around until the straight edge is parallel with the miter gauge slots, then tighten the bolts.

The A101N is held together by 3 #15 Torx (tm) screws. Two 2.5" long screws on each side of the lower shell (screws into the motor bulkhead on each side) and one recessed screw at the front of the shell. The front screw is a 1.5" Torx, all other screws holding bits and bobs on the shell are 1" Torx...you don't have to remove them, but it's handy to know that all the screws on the outer shell are interchangeable, except the 3 that hold the shell together. In addition, there is a large metal tab that slots into the rear of the rubber gasket that is clamped between the two halves of the shell. Use pliers to pry the slotted part of the gasket (it's a squared off section of the gasket that sticks out on one end). The pliers can get the gasket off the tab, and a narrow-shaft screwdriver (phillips or robertson) can hold the rubbber flap away from the tab on each side. Once the gasket is off the metal tab, the two halves of the shell should just pop apart. When re-assembling the shell, remember to line up the motor bulkhead with the notch in the gasket around the motor housing, the shell won't close if the motor is mis-aligned. Also, start by inserting the metal tab on the lower shell into the notches on the gasket, then stretch, pull, and coax the gasket into place around the lower shell first, before replacing the upper shell, and screwing the two halves back together. 1 Open the hood and loosen the clamp bolt on the negative battery cable with an adjustable wrench turned in a counterclockwise direction. Pull the cable straight up and off of the terminal and push it aside. Wait 15 minutes, before continuing this procedure, to allow the air bag circuitry to deactivate.
2 Pry the two plastic screw covers from the rear of the steering wheel spokes in the passenger compartment with a flat blade screwdriver. Remove the two screws revealed after removing the covers with an 8 mm socket attached to a ¼-inch drive ratchet wrench turned in a counterclockwise direction.
3 Lift the horn pad straight up from the top of the steering wheel. Carefully pull the air bag wiring harness connector from the bottom of the horn pad. Set the horn pad aside.
4 Remove the two screws holding each cruise control switch (there are two switches, one on each side of the steering wheel) with a Torx screwdriver turned in a counterclockwise direction. Lift up on the switch and pull the wiring connector apart with your thumb and forefinger. Repeat this action for both switches. Remove the switches from the steering wheel.
5 Install the new switches (make sure the "On/Off" switch is on the right-hand side) onto the steering wheel using the original mounting holes. Tighten the holding screws with a Torx screwdriver turned in a clockwise direction.
6 Push the air bag wiring connector back into the bottom of the horn pad until it is fully seated. Place the horn pad into position on the steering wheel. Tighten the holding screws from the back of the steering wheel with an 8 mm socket and ratchet. Push the two screw covers into the back of the steering wheel until they snap into place.
7 Place the negative battery cable back onto the terminal and tighten the clamp nut in a clockwise direction with an adjustable wrench. Close the hood.

How to open cpu case


On the back of the computer down to the left bottom are two screws.
These screws are called Smart Cover Lock Screws.

They are a Torx screw.

If you do not have Torx screwdrivers, or Torx bits available, you may want to check out an auto parts store, or hardware store for their cheap line.

Once the two tamper-proof screws are removed, turn the computer around to face front.
There are two triangular shaped buttons to push in to release the computer cover.
(Triangular shaped with a round indention in the middle)
One button on each side.

Both buttons are pressed in simultaneously, and the computer cover is slid forward.
The buttons are then released, and the computer cover is lifted up, and off.

1984 Ford Tempo - Rear Drum brake drum/shoes
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION


See Figures below instructions

1. Raise and safely support the vehicle with jackstands.

2. Remove the wheel, tire, hub and finally, the drum assembly.

3. Using a spring removal tool, remove the horizontal securing spring at the top first of the assembly.

4. Pull the adjuster locking plate away from the shoes.

5. Remove the lower horizontal securing spring.

6. Unfasten one of the 2 shoe hold-down springs and remove the pin.

7. Remove the brake adjuster.

8. Remove the remaining hold down spring and clip.

9. Lift the brake shoes assembly off the backing plate and wheel cylinder assembly. Be careful not to bend adjusting lever during the removal process.

10. Remove the parking brake cable from the parking brake lever.

11. Remove the horseshoe retaining clip and spring washer and slide the lever off the parking brake lever pin on the trailing shoe.



To install:

12. Apply a light coating of high temperature grease at the points where the brake shoes contact the backing plate.

13. Apply a light coating of lubricant to the adjuster screw threads and the socket end of the adjusting screw. Turn the adjusting screw into the adjusting pivot nut to the limit of the threads and then back-off 1 / 2 turn.

14. Assemble the parking brake lever to the trailing shoe by installing the spring washer and a new horseshoe retaining clip. Crimp the clip until it retains the lever to the shoe securely.

15. Attach the parking brake cable to the parking brake lever.

16. Attach the lower retracting spring to the leading and trailing shoe assemblies and install to backing plate. It will be necessary to stretch the retracting spring as the shoes are installed downward over the anchor plate to inside of shoe retaining plate.

17. Install the adjuster screw assembly between the leading shoe slot and the slot in the trailing shoe and parking brake lever. The adjuster socket end slot must fit into the trailing shoe and parking brake lever.



The adjuster socket blade is marked R or L for the right or left brake assemblies. The R or L adjuster blade must be installed with the letter R or L in the upright position, facing the wheel cylinder, on the correct side to ensure that the deeper of the 2 slots in the adjuster sockets fits into the parking brake lever.

18. Assemble the adjuster lever in the groove located in the parking brake lever pin and into the slot of the adjuster socket that fits into the trailing shoe web.

19. Attach the upper retracting spring to the leading shoe slot. Using a suitable spring tool, stretch the other end of the spring into the notch on the adjuster lever. If the adjuster lever does not contact the star wheel after installing the spring, it is possible that the adjuster socket is installed incorrectly.

20. Inspect your work to make sure it is correct.

21. Install the hub/drum and wheel/tire assemblies and adjust the wheel bearings.

22. Lower the vehicle and check brake operation.

How do I take my Imressa E8 apart?


Remove water container and empty beans. BE SURE UNIT IS UNPLUGGED.First, facing the unit, take out the three black torx screws from the bottom front. It makes removing the sides a little easier. Next, open the top lids, beans and water, and find the black pan screws in the top front and remove. Now, facing the rear of the maker, there are four screws disguised as buttons. Clamp on to the steel with a linesman pliers or you may need a side cutters. If using a side cutters, apply just enough pressure to grip and not cut. Remove screws counterclockwise. The top cover should lift up at this time. The side panels slide back to unhook from bottom and must be manipulated to release from front face. The side panel nearest bean grinder seems to remove a little easier than the water side. At this point, you may be able to clean bean grinder chute without further disassembly. If you need to service bean grinder, right side panel needs to be removed. Then remove the stainless torx screw holding on the bean cover to the grinding chamber. Adjust knob to full coarse setting. Next, find the two black torx screws inset in the bean container, probably have beans stuck above them. Remove bin. Do NOT remove the stainless torx screw on the top of grinder worm (on top of grinder blade)! From the side of unit, make note of clear and black wires on bottom of grinder motor so that wires will be put back on same terminals (can't remember if it was a dc motor). Remove wires. Make a mark on gear teeth of fine/coarse gear and gear ring of grinder to retain calibration. Now remove three stainless torx screws holding in grinder ***'y. Grinder ***'y should come out. Cleaning is easier at point. If you are to go further into the disassembly of the grinder, care should be taken because there are small springs and ball bearings in the ring gear and cutter.

Replacing rear brakes



REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
It is a good idea to only disassemble and assemble one side at a time, leaving the other side intact as a reference.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
  2. Remove the brake drum.
  3. Disconnect the parking brake rear cable and conduit.
  4. Remove the brake shoe hold-down springs and brake shoe hold-down pins.
  5. Remove the brake shoe adjusting screw spring.
  6. Remove the brake shoe adjusting lever and adjuster screw.
  7. Remove the brake shoe retracting spring.
  8. Remove the brake shoes from the backing plate.
  9. Remove and discard the parking brake lever clip. Remove the washer.
  10. Remove the parking brake lever from the rear brake shoe.

To install:
  1. Thoroughly clean the backing plate with brake cleaning solvent and dry completely.
  2. Use silicone grease to lubricate the brake backing plate-to-brake shoe contact areas.
  3. Apply a light coating of premium grease to the threaded areas of the adjuster. Turn the adjuster in and out to spread the lubricant. Turn the adjuster all the way down on the screw and loosen one-half turn.
  4. Install the parking brake lever to the rear (secondary) brake shoe with a new clip.
  5. Position the brake shoes on the backing plate and install the brake shoe hold-down springs.
  6. Attach the parking brake rear cable and conduit to the parking brake lever.
  7. Attach the brake shoe retracting spring.

The socket end of the brake adjuster screw is stamped with "R" or "L" to indicate that it is to be installed either on the right (passenger's side) or left (driver's side) of the vehicle. The adjuster nuts can be distinguished by the number of grooves machined around the body of the nut. Two grooves indicate a right-hand adjuster nut and one groove indicates a left-hand adjuster nut. Another way to identify brake adjuster assemblies is to check thread pitch. The right side adjuster assembly has right-hand threads and the left side has left-hand threads. If installed correctly, the brake adjuster assembly will increase in length when the brake shoe adjusting lever is operated.
  1. Install brake adjuster screw in the slots on the brake shoes. The wider slot on the socket end must fit in the slot on the front (primary) brake shoe.
  2. Install the brake shoe adjusting lever on the lever pin.
  3. Install the brake adjusting screw in the slot on the secondary brake shoe and in the slot on the brake shoe lever. The brake shoe adjusting lever should contact the brake adjuster screw.
  4. Adjust the brake shoes.
  5. Install the drums.


ADJUSTMENTS

The drum brakes are self-adjusting and require a manual adjustment only after the brake shoes have been replaced, or when the length of the adjusting screw has been changed while performing some other service operation.
Drum Installed

  1. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
  2. Remove the rubber plug from the adjusting slot on the backing plate.
  3. Insert a Brake Adjustment Tool (D81L-1103-C) or equivalent into the slot and engage the lowest possible tooth on the starwheel. Move the end of the brake spoon downward to move the starwheel upward and expand the adjusting screw. Repeat this operation until the brakes lock the wheels.
  4. Insert a small screwdriver or piece of firm wire (coat hanger wire) into the adjusting slot and push the automatic adjusting lever out and free of the starwheel on the adjusting screw and hold it there.
  5. Engage the topmost tooth possible on the starwheel with the brake adjusting spoon. Move the end of the adjusting spoon upward to move the adjusting screw starwheel downward and contract the adjusting screw. Back off the adjusting screw starwheel until the wheel spins freely with a minimum of drag. Keep track of the number of turns that the starwheel is backed off, or the number of strokes taken with the brake adjusting spoon.
  6. Repeat this operation for the other side. When backing off the brakes on the other side, the starwheel adjuster must be backed off the same number of turns to prevent side-to-side brake pull.
  7. When the brakes are adjusted, make several stops while backing the vehicle to equalize the brakes on both of the wheels.
  8. Lower the vehicle.

  1. Remove the brake drum.
  2. Make sure that the shoe-to-contact pad areas are clean and properly lubricated.
  3. Using a Brake Adjustment Gauge (D81L-1103-A) or equivalent, check the inside diameter of the drum.
  4. Measure across the diameter of the assembled brake shoes, at their widest point.
  5. Turn the adjusting screw so that the diameter of the shoes is 0.030 in. (0.76mm) less than the brake drum inner diameter.
  6. Install the drum.


INSPECTION

Inspect the brake shoes for wear using a ruler or Vernier caliper. Compare measurements to the brake specifications chart. If the lining is thinner than specification or there is evidence of the lining being contaminated by brake fluid or oil, replace all brake pad assemblies (a complete axle set).

Look for these torx screws on the back cover or by lifting the shaver head .
