I have the cable box connected to Bose and then to tv. I was able to play DVD on Bose and watch cable and control voice from Bose. The only thing I couldn't do it change channels with Bose. I went into Bose setting and did domething wrong in remote sets up because now I can't see my DVD only audio and still can't change cable channels. Tried to go into Bose setting again and they will no longer show up on tv.

SOURCE: Bose link AL8 connection problems

I had a similar problem, though intermittent, using my 48 with the AL8 and room-mate speakers. I kept getting a "no signal received from media centre" message on the remote in the second room.

Assuming that the batteries are ok and you don't have a hardware problem, the problem might be that the 48 is not picking up the signal from your remote control in your second room. The signal from your remote control is a radio signal that goes directly to the 48 - it doesn't communicate via the AL8 receiver. I think the orange light will only turn green once a signal is being transmitted from the transmitter unit plugged into your 48 media centre, and this won't start transmitting until the media centre gets a signal from the remote telling it to switch on.

The aerial for all the remote controls is contained in the power cable that links the 48 lifestyle unit to your VS-2 unit. Make sure that this is uncoiled and oriented vertically, as far away from other cables as possible.

If this doesn't work, you can get an antenna extender that plugs into the RC socket on the back of the lifestyle system. Again, orient this vertically. You can get these from Bose.

Is there anything in the wall that might be blocking the radio signal? Lots of metalwork for example?

If orienting the power cable from the VS-2 doesn't do the trick, I suggest that you go to a local Bose shop. (An actual Bose shop, not just an electrical or hifi store stocking Bose products). I explained my problem and the tech guy gave me an extender gratis (its basically just an FM aerial wire by the look of it). I installed it this morning and, so far, its seems to be working ok. As my unit is fairly new, he also offered to have the kit back in the shop to check it all out and, if that didn't work gave me Bose technical support number. He even offered, if all else failed, to send a guy out to my home to get it working - and I didn't even buy it from there!

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Connect lifestyle 48 to plasma and dvr

You need to buy a Bose VS 2, video enhancer. Your cable/sattelite, vcr and aux connect to the VS 2 and the VS2 connects one HDMI cable to the TV. The VS2 then upconverts DVDs played on the lifestyle through the VS2/HDMI.

SOURCE: Bose Lifestyle 28 Sound Problem

I also get this problem sometimes with mine. Usually when you call Bose they suggest that you do a "hard" reset meaning you unplug the power cord from the wall and wait about one min. Then plug the unit back in and it should work.
The other thing that you can try if the system still isn't working is to check that all the wires running into and out of the sub-woofer are all plugged in and aren't loose.

If either of these two solutions don't work you can alway call Bose tech support @ 1-877-210-3782 (they are open Monday Friday: 8:30 AM 8:00 PM ET)

Testimonial: "Thanks for your support. Unfortunately i had to send the system to Bose for repairs. Thanks anyways. "

I have a loud humm in my bose lifestyle 28 system

Turn on your bose so you can hear it hum. Go to the back of your cable box and remove the co ax cable connected to "cable in". If the humming stops, the sheilding on your cable is no longer grounded. Purchase MPAV800 or similar surge protector to run cable line through it and get it grounded.

Home Theater install

yes sounds about right what you are doing as long as you have 2 digital audio 'inputs' on your Bose to get the audio from the dvd player and cable box. Apart from your last part "I will then use Digital Audio from the Bose to the TV." The tv will only downrate the audio to two channel stereo, so its not worth puting audio through the tv as you only get stereo anyway, so might as well let the tvs speakers power it out themselves.
