Pioneer receiver -no volume or volume display on screen. As if the function has disappeared. Knob still turns; just NO effect

Did the volume control get an impact? Could be internal damage to the digital control. Did it act up prior to this non-function, like volume went up on a down command or jump up or down when a slight turn was made? Thnose would reinforce a damaged volume control.

My Torch 9800 camera has a black screen, but the icons at the bottom of the screen are there. It will not take pictures and then also tends to freeze.

This is not a solution, but helps to get the camera functional:
1. Push the dots/BB button. Set Autofocus to "Single Shot".
2. Go to Scene Modes, some people recommend selecting "Face Detection", but I find "Auto" also works well.
3. Under Options - Select Select Picture Review to "Off".
My Torch (9800) now at least have a functional camera with reasonable pictures, as long as I hold the camera steady for taking pics.
Good luck!

My brush trimmer starts ok. I try to accelerate out of idle and it immediately cuts out. I have owned this unit for 3-4 yrs and this is the first problem I have encountered. Thanks in advance for any help!

I had a 32cc that did the same thing. I had to install a carburetor rebuild kit to cure it. You may be able to get away with just installing the diaghram kit or can opt for the full rebuild kit (includes all parts in the diaghram kit). This usually remedies this probem, but not always as there are other items that need maintenance or replacing periodically...like the fuel filter, the fuel lines (when they go bad, they clog up the carb).. and air filter. If you rebuild the carb, clean it only with non-flammable brake cleaner spray as other carb cleaners have too harsh solvents in them and can damage sensitive internal parts like check valves in the carb. Don't blow it out with high PSI air either as you can damage check valves that way also. Post back if need be.

Timing belt broke on 1996 Contour; sepentine belt replaced only 3 yrs. ago - related?

Not at all. Your serpentine belt is in the same area as the timing belt, however is NOT related to the function of your timing belt.

If you have a 4 cylinder 2.0, then you have little to worry. Most of the contour 4 cylinder engines are supposed to be "non-interference"... which basically means that if the timing belt breaks, then there is not much risk of your contour's engine to have internal damage!

So... Replace the timing belt, and you should be back on the road within 1 day.

Camera dropped obviosly damaged

What is the damage?

When a digital camera is dropped, often the internal electronics are damaged?
When it is obvious on the outside of the case, then most warranty repair shops won't even crack it open unless you are willing to pay.....as camera warrantities do NOT cover this type of 'non-functioning'

Sorry...but I too have learned this lesson the hard way.

Hi,
The Laptop Shuts Down, Due the Processor Reaching It,s Heat Limitations, as set by the Bios/Motherboard Et,c. This Is A Safety function to Avoid Any Further Damage To The CPU Or Other internal Hardware. If the CPU Fan is not functioning, this is likely the cause. To Remedy this Problem, you,d look at removing the faulty fan ( Replace With New ) Or fully functioning Fan. And replacing the thermal Patch Or Paste, Between The CPU ( Processor ) And Heatsink Or Mating surface Between CPU/FAN.
I,d suggest not using the Laptop, until this has been repaired, as you will only cause more damage, which in turn. will become unrepairable. or very costly.
