Marty, this mower is know for the wires right at the clutch to break. causing the problem you are describing. you probably have a wire that is in the middle of breaking. get under it and wiggle the wires. you should feel some resistance. tape them up good or you may have to take the clutch off and solder the wires back together. good luck.
