Check the freedom of movement of the water level sensor (a plastic float inside the washer basin), even a slight overfill will cause the water to leak past the door seal. As far as the long run time goes you will need a new control panel circuit board.

SOURCE: We have a Siemens SL84A305UC Dishwasher and it

Hello and welcome to Fixya. The assesment of the control is likely accurate. Siemen is made by B/S/H/ ( bosch/ thermador/ siemen/ gaggenau) and there is plenty of president for this issue. Likely if you select just a rinse cycle it will complete fine since the rinse cycle doesn't call for heat from the element/control. sooo... Based on your description I'd say the issue IS indeed with the control. As I said B/S/H/ has had a history of this exact problem I'm about to lay out for you and this is the first thing I'd be looking for if called out to service the unit with the symptoms you've described. ( unless you requested a resolder option...see below re: my opinion on this ) I digress, As I've alluded to the issue is within the electronic timer/control, specifically the heater relay solder joint. ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable ). My first suggestion would be calling in an authorized bosch/siemen servicer if that is an option for you and your budget however, If you cannot afford that option or simply feel you want to attempt and are capable of checking this on your own, there`s a way to visually inspect the control yourself. It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board. This will be one of the pins from the heater relay, hence the unit sit`s and takes forever to finish because it can`t heat to advance or unless the 2 buttons for "cancel" are pressed. **My Opinion - if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...but it has to be done well...half assed will not last, although Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on there behalf nor do I profess to know better. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?)** **Please disconnect the power before attempting any service to the dishwasher. If you do not feel comfortable attempting this service, call a local pro, preferably one familiar with Bosch/Thermador/Siemen/Gaggenau, to service your machine.** Hope this answer`s your question, let me know if I can assist you further. Thank`s for visiting "fixya" for your repair inquiries. Please take a moment and rate this solution to it's helpfulness. Good luck. macmarkus :)

Hello, Welcome to FixYa. Based on your post I understand you have a problem with a Siemens dishwasher, however if you could provide more detail as to what is happening ( buttons don't resond ?) and possibly the age of the unit I would be better equipped to assist you without generalizing on what it may or may not be. Let me know and we can go forward from here. I'll watch and look forward for your reply. Thank you for visiting FixYa for your inquiry. Regards, Macmarkus :)

Leaking from the bottom of the door

Check the seal on the door. If the water is hard it will get get gunk build up. Easy fix or at least the first thing I would do. Is clean seal with Vinegar and old toothbrush. I've had this problem in the past before I got a Water softener. And I would recommend running a quick Cycle with one cup of vinegar every other week to keep the washer nice and clean of build up. You'll also notice your dishes will have a lot less spots.

Siemens Dishwasher Fault

there is a water level sensor in the bottom of the machine if this is faulty and stays on, this will indicate to the pump there is water still in the machine. I would check this sensor it might be blocked with debris and has blocked in the closed position. that woudl be the best start for this issue.

i hope this was useful.

The dishwasher moter is running when the door is open however no washer is present. dishwasher does not go through a cycle it just keeps running

Hi,

It seems to be a Safety Switch. Is there any Leak? Check Properly specially into the Base of the Dishwasher. I have seen many Times that could Turn OFF the Safety switch.

Turn off and lean the machine back at 45 degrees, you may see water come out the base. Wait for it to dry out then try again.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

The drain pump keeps running when the machine is

This sounds like its gone into flood mode.
If water is detected in the base of the machine, the pump switches on and stays on to prevent flooding.
Normally to reset you would lean the machine backwards and let the water drain out.
In your case, switch off the mains, remove the lower kick panel. Shine a torch in there and you should see the water. CAREFULLY dry it out and it should reset.
If it does it again, you need to check for leaks.

My frigidaire dishwasher leaks from the bottom right of the door. It forms a puddle while running a load of dishes. Looks like the seal is gone underneath the door on the right side. Any idea how to...

One possible solution to your problem could be as follows... Could have been little regular soap or something put in that made it suds up causing it to leak out of the front and sometimes not to drain all water out. Pouring vegetable oil into the dish washer tub will remove the suds. After running vegetable oil for about 5 minutes, pour 2 cups of vinegar in to the tub and run it on the hottest longest cycle with no dishes in it. This will clean the residue out and what ever "gunk" may be in the internal parts. Use Only powder detergent. No gel and No tabs. These 2 cause a build-up over a period of time of use and reduce the performance of your machine. This should take care of your problem. Also could have a bad door seal. Check for any tares in the gasket.

Dishwasher just emptying

I am at the end of my tether. I have bought a new door latch for my Bosch SGS 43E02 GB45, so door now closes properly and have managed to stop the leak under the front left hand side of the machine. Howver it sounds as if it is constantly emptying. It does not go onto the new wash cycle just keeps pumping out the water. It did run a quick rinse yestreday but now is back to the constant emptying problem. Even when I open the door it still keeps running and staying on a emptying cycle despite there being no visible water left inside the machine. Please help!!

Water leaking from the door

Could be a number of things. If you are in an area with hard water you could be using too much soap or the wrong soap. The dishwasher could be out of level, or the door seal could need replacing. Dishwashers also need to be cleaned. Soap residue builds over time. Try running the d/w with no dishes or soap, pour 5-6 cups of white vinegar directly into the tub and run a whole cycle. And again watch the soap usage.

Dishwasher keeps running

I have seen this several times, and all of the times it has a bad control board. usually if you take the control board out, you can see a visibly burnt spot on the back of it wher a connection has melted. Another possible slowrun time problem could be that the water coming into the dishwasher when it fills is not hot. If it isnt hot, it takes the dishwasher longer to heat the water to temp, and therfore it runs longer. Is the water coming out of your tap reasonably hot? if not you may need to turn up your water heater settings. But if nobody has messed with the water heater, or the tap where the dishwasher is attached and the problem just started then thats probably not it. Good Luck!
