Hi: I have a atwood-6-gallon heater, the pilot works well but when I try to switch over to the main burner the pilot goes out time after time --- only used once. Thanks in advance Jim

This can be caused by a number of problems.
1. How long has the pilot been lit before you turn it to burner? It needs to warm up the end of the coupler. When you push in on the knob to light the pilot, hold it in for a while after the pilot lights. This allows more gas/hotter pilot flame to warm things up.
2. How fast are you turning it to burner? You need to do it really slow. The gas is under pressure and can blow out the pilot if you do it too quick.
3. Is there a blockage in the tube? Lady bugs, spider webs, etc. can cause a blockage and this problem. It's pretty common. (A long pipe cleaner will clean it out in a few seconds.)
If all of these fail:
4. It it getting too much/too little air? Check the air gap in the end of the tube. (Also called air manifold)

Thermostat not registering on auto when below temp set. Have to set fan to on before will blow; can hear pilot light kicking on?

This could actually be a couple of things. When below set temp does the unit turn on (ie produce heat), and the blower just never starts? If that is the case then the air coming from the registars will be cool to cold. This would indicate a problem with the "heating" side of the system. If the air from the registars is cool to warm, then it is a problem with your blower motor. Turning the switch from Auto to On, changes the blower from Low speed (used for heat) to High speed (used in cooling). The first thing to do, is to isolate which side of the system is failing, then troubleshoot from there. Hope this helps

I have a johnson & starley 25-30 modairflow

I have resently had the same problem.
called british gas to inspect the system and they found that the flue had corroded at the vent and become detached allowing corbon monoxide fumes to enter the roof space and filter down the heater causing it to cut out.
advise you to stop using heater imidiately and call for assistance befor you are all gassed.

Driver's side air blowing warm, won't change

Sounds like there is a crack in the vent that leads to the drivers side, and hot air from the engine is leaking through.

Central Electric heat not blowing hot or warm air

Make sure you are in the heat mode. Do you hear the wall thermostat click when you raise and lower the set temp. If not replace thermostst. Clean all filters to start. Does your heat source have a pilot light to start or is the unit located out side. If apilot light make sure itis lit. let's go from there

A/C Samsung spilt ( working fine then after 8 hours gives warm air)

It sounds to me like your fan cycling switch is sticking while the unit is cycling off (fans). When this happens your condenser does not have the ability to remove the heat from the refrigerant which in turn causes the compressor to load heavy. This creates a very high pressure condition on the high side. When this happens go outside and see if the condenser fans are running.

Hope this helps You
