Pull the machine out and remove the pipe to the wall. Look for fluff build up at the exit of the machine and on any bends. Also that the flap on the outside is opening OK and it is not blocked. Birds will sometimes build nests in them.

Where is thermostat located on ge dryer, starts hot then it gets cool

Dryer possibly overheating due to plugged vent. They will go into a safe mode and shutdown the heater if not enough airflow. Results in starting hot but ending with a cold load of clothes! Check the belt to ensure the dryer fan is working and that the drum is properly rotating. If OK and the vent is clear then check the thermostat. Depengin on the type (Gas vs electric) there are a number of limit thermostats as well as a main thermostat. Likely you have a a limit switch kicking in to shut off the heater. Normally from lack of airflow (plugged vent, fan broken, etc...) Once unit cools down will start back up but shut down again once the heater comes on. Also check to see if the heating element is shorted to the side of the metal case. Will heat up and be intermittent.

Clothes Dryer Break Down

Check your dryer vent and lint collection area for clogs, make sure there is no kinks in the dryer hose and the one way vent outside your house is not blocked. Your dryer is overheating and shutting down due to a thermal fuse that is on a timer and takes while to reset.

My DBSR453EBww dryer shuts off before the clothes are dry.

Possibly the motor is overheating due to lack of ventilation, or the lint filter requires cleaning, make sure the outlet is clear at the rear of dryer, and that the vent hose (if fitted) is not kinked.
You could also have a problem with the motor itself which is causing it to overheat and the cutout is stopping the motor from working until it cools down enough to start again.

Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.
