How can I have my password reset when it sends me the link to an old phone number?

Alternate Email
  • Go to the Password Helper (link at bottom).
  • Enter your email address or click I don't know my Yahoo email address. If you have a mobile number, listed on your account, that option will show.
  • Click No, I can't receive text. - You'll see your alternate email address. If you have access to that email, click Yes, email me. - A "Recover access to your Yahoo account" email will be sent to your alternate email address.
  • Enter the verification code we sent you, then click Submit.
  • Click Continue or you can click Create new password and update it on the spot.

Secrete Questions
If you don't have secret questions on file, that reset option won't be available in Password Helper.
  • Go to the Password Helper - Enter your Yahoo ID, then click Submit.
  • Select Use my secret questions, then click Next.
  • Enter the answer to your secret questions, then click Next.
  • Enter your new password, then click Next.

My yahoo mail account was hacked and now my 3g phone won't send email

You probably need to change your yahoo email password using either the web browser on your phone or better still on your computer (easier to navigate yahoo on computer) Once you have reset your password, you will need to go back into your settings menu on the iPhone and change your password in the phone settings in order to access your email again.

I cant remember my recently changed password and cannot answer any security questions, my email address is judylega@yahoo.com

Your Yahoo ID is linked to a broad array of Yahoo services, from Yahoo Messenger to online games. A Yahoo ID must be deleted from a laptop or desktop, not a mobile device. Only get rid of your Yahoo ID if you're certain you'll never need it again, because there is no option to change your mind and get your ID back once it's gone.

Deleting a Yahoo ID
When you delete a Yahoo ID, you lose access to all programs associated with it, including Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Groups and Yahoo Finance Portfolio. Deleting your Yahoo ID will not remove your listing from the Yahoo People Search, however, so your profile will continue to appear in search results unless you delete your listing before deleting your ID. Lost Information b> When a Yahoo ID is removed from the system, Yahoo deletes all of the data associated with the account, including your email messages. You cannot recover this information once it is removed; creating a backup copy of your data on a computer or external storage device is the only way to preserve it for future reference. b> Reactivating Dormant Email As long has your Yahoo email has only gone dormant -- and not been deleted as the result of an ID termination -- you can reactivate the account. Yahoo automatically makes an email account dormant if the user hasn't signed in more than four consecutive months. To reactivate such an email account, you must sign in via computer using your Yahoo ID and password, and choose "Reactivate Without Account Protection." Yahoo permanently deletes old emails when an account is deactivated, but you can resume sending and receiving email once you reactivate the account. b> Considerations b> Some premium services are not cancelled along with a Yahoo ID deletion. If you signed up for a paid service, such as Yahoo Mail Plus, the company recommends manually canceling the service -- independent of your Yahoo ID deletion -- to avoid future bills. Canceling a Yahoo ID doesn't disqualify you from signing up again in the future with a new ID, but you cannot reactivate the same ID. Hope this helps.

Hi,

Here are some steps to change your password because you won't be able to recover the old one.

1. go to this link https://edit.yahoo.com/forgot?stage=fe100

2. Enter your Yahoo ID or email address

3. Enter the codes that is shown on the image below. Click "Next"

4. You can enter your alternate email or choose "I can't access any of the above" or

note: if you enter your alternate email, yahoo will send you a special link or code to allow you change your password. If you enter your mobile number, yahoo will send you a code and just enter it and click on next.

5. Enter your new password and re-enter it to confirm.

Hope this helps

All my email has been deleted i want it back

Hello,

If you are referring to Yahoo Mail, then the only way is to try clicking on the Trash folder from the left pane of your screen. The system puts all deleted emails there with a limited time. However if you have totally deleted the emails from the Trash folder as well, then those emails were lost forever and you cannot ask Yahoo to retrieve it for you.

Thank you for using FixYa.
