I have a chamberlin garage door opener that works fine until the temperature drops to zero or below and then it goes part way down and then reverses itself and won't go down. Any idea of a solution?

When the temperature gets near or below zero, my door comes part way down and then reverses. It works perfectly at higher temps. do you have a solution?

I re-categoried this question, hope it was garage door related. There is an adjustment on the motor unit that sets the reverse threshold if the door hits something. When it gets cold, lubricants can get thicker and the door senses the resistance and opens when trying to close. You can change lubricants or set the adjustment to a higher setting

My mom & I each have a Craftsman garage door opener at our respective homes & live @ 15 minutes apart. Our openers are about 13 to 14 yrs old. The past two yrs. we've both had the same problem. ...

If the main light flashes 10 times when the door reverses to the open position it is a door sensor problem. Make sure both lights on the sensors stay on and don't flicker while the door is moving and the sensors are firmly attached so they don't move. Tweak them just a bit.

Whenever the temperature drops below approx 40 degrees the door only opens anywhere from 12" to 3ft. The door works fine when the outside temp is above 40. When I unhook the door from the opener it moves...

Make sure there is no grease in the rails. This can congeal and cause this problem. The 'up force' control is on the panel where all those white wires go. You can try increasing this also.

When the temperature drops below 30 degrees F my garage door opener will not close the door. I tried adjusting the downforce but it still does not close. Craftsman 41A4315-7C

Put the down force adjustment back where it was as it affects the safety reversing. If the main light flashes 10 times when you try to close the door it is a door sensor problem. Make sure they are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not flickering. Tweak them a bit if necessary. It could be an electronic component that is sensitive to cold and quits when the temperature drops. This is not uncommon.

2 different openers stopped working by remote at the same time

Both the older genie and a newer chamberlain (3-4 yrs old) both run on 390Mhz frequency. sounds like you will have to change your receivers on both operators (365LM 315Mhz) then get 3 button remote so you can program both doors on one remote.

Automatic Garage door reverses and automatically opens after closing

I can't believe it! My opener works fine a 10 degrees and above but below 10 degrees it would go down a little ways stop and go back with the light flashing. I checked the electric eye and found it would go out of alignment when the temp drop. Who knew!
I made the adjustment and it now works fine.
