I have a toro snow blower that makes a popping sound when pulled but wont start any ideas

Have you tried using starter fluid? Sounds like the timing may be off or it may be flooded. Pull out the spark plug and see if it is wet. If so dry off the plug and pull the engine over with no plug (move the spark plug wire away from the spark plug and ground it out so it wont cause a fire). This will spit out the excess gas in the cylinder and then put it back together and try again. What model is the Toro?

Snow blower spark plug replacement

I would check it at the start of every season and clean it. If you note that it seems to be running rich and might have fouled the plug, you can always pull it and check it again. Probably not a bad idea to check it before you put it away for the season. As for replacement, it depends on condition. I would think that you should get two or three season's use out of it before needing to replace it, at least.
